1. Annikin (future Darth) kills an unarmed prisoner and knows its wrong
but does it anyway.

Also Darth Siddious (Bush) specifically authorises him to do so.

14. Haven't seen it, but I heard the line as:
"You are either with me, or you are my enemy."

I've also heard there's a quote like "Only Sith think in absolutes."

3. I think you're a bit early.
I haven't seen the movie, but I suspect that it's going to suck.

The Bush administration sucks.

The parallels are stunning.

4. Is there a happy ending? Cause I need a happy ending....
I'm so disgusted by what is going on these days and with this corrupt and evil administration trashing our country and the world, that I can only hope and pray that if it is the story of the Bush administration, that there is a happy ending...

Time for me to whip out the other Star Wars movies....

13. The difference between ROTJ and the current administration...
is that there WAS some goodness in Darth Vader. I am 100% convinced that there is none in this group of goons.

5. It is about Evil taking over the State...
And that has happened more times in history than I care to think about.

Bush is an evil fascist. He will end up as do all evil fascists.

7. Bush is one thing in public and a totally another thing in reality...
He pretends to be a Christian, yet always does unChristian things.

Darth Siddious where's a public mask of doing good , but he always does evil.

9. I saw the movie this morning and
can't stop thinking about one line that Padme said--"So, this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause". So timely.

10. In depth review
by Alex Jones....(long)

The Star Wars story has had, without a question, the greatest impact on popular culture of any movie in world history. We will now explore why it has resonated so strongly with so many people across generations.

At last, the mainstream media is picking up on something we've been talking about for years. The plot lines of George Lucas' six Star Wars films mirror, in many respects, the activities of western governments.

George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars saga, has said over and over again that he simply plays on subconscious archetypal symbols that evoke primeval fears and passions. Lucas has also stated on many occasions that he draws from historical examples of imperial leaders' lust for war and total power.

Lucas has said that that is why his films have such a powerful effect of people. Deep down, everyone knows that the greatest threat to life and liberty isn't the average criminal on the street, but the monolithic, all-powerful state.

12. "I am the Senate" Says Siddious
"L'etat c'est moi" Louis XIV

Gonzales had the nerve to say that President Bush is the law and that he can break any Federal or international law that he wishes because he is the President. Gonzalez openly defended his view in front of a Senate panel that still confirmed him to be Attorney General.

17. Here's a blog entry on the parallels.

There are many:

a clip:

Trouble also comes when Anakin Skywalker decides that the only way to serve the Republic is to blindly follow the head of the Republic, Chancellor Palpatine. By equating the Republic with an individual leader he eventually facilitated the Republic's transition to Empire. I think this is a common mistake by partisan Republicans who equate supporting Commander Cuckoo Bananas, and any war he starts, with supporting America. There's an important difference between those who define patriotism as loyalty to a leader and those who feel it is more patriotic to defend the principles of peace, freedom and justice that America should stand for.
