If The Shoe Were On The Other Foot In The Senate......
and the Repugs and Rove were having to twart the Nuclear Option being foisted on them by the Dems - what would they do?

Sometimes the best way to counteract something is to think like the other side.

3. are you kidding, they wouldn't have to do anything every freakin
talking head would be screaming how out of control the dems are. Jesus, I'm praying really hard that we can get control of the senate in 06. or at least pick up some seats to narrow the margin, then maybe we could get some mod repugs to side with us.

4. They would be screaming that the wicked Democrats...
were trying to force "liberal, activist judges" on the American people.

Now the Repukes are smart enough to have countered the equivalent attack by kicking this thing off with "Just-us Sunday," making sure to note that "good, Christian" judges are being blocked by Democrats because of their faith. They've pre-emptively denied us the ability to point out how extreme these few nominees are.

5. Democrats don't hate America enough to do something like this.
Democrats wouldn't pull this kind of crap.

8. Keep in mind - the Dems feed at the same troughs as the repukes do.
They've helped themselves and allowed several pieces of legislation to be passed that are not in the best interests of Americans.

Don't be too sure that the Dems are on our side.

For those intersted in flaming me - a short list includes:

New Freedom Initiative - mental health screening of all school-age children and public school employees, then moves on to pregnant women, then the rest of us
Check 21 - quick turnaround of our payments while holding our deposits, results in big bounced check fees for banks
Bankruptcy Legislation
Real ID
Partiot Act - maybe even Partiot Act II in the next few months (that'll be a joy)
Medicare Legislation - protecting pharma companies from imports of cheaper drugs plus big tax breaks
Energy Policy - giving some tax breaks to companies who want to ruin the environment

10. "Allowed" several pieces of legislation to be passed?
I don't need to "flame" you...you've done a great job of flaming yourself.

The New Freedom Initiative was an executive order. Not one Democrat had any say in the matter.

I don't have time to educate you on the other issues, but you should do some research before you go making inane posts like this. You can start with which party has a majority in both House and Senate, and then look at some of the actual votes... :eyes:

11. The acutal votes show a good number of Dems voting with Pubs.
My understanding is that there was a Texas Repub who wanted to add an amendment to the New Freedom to include parental consent to this testing, but was shot down by a wide margin in the House.

Also, how does the president get to create an order that affects millions of people without a vote on the subject? If he can do that, why doesn't he just outlaw abortion?

9. the Dems wouldn't do it
but the repukes would do anything and everything they could, or in other words, the same stuff they do now from the other side

-murder

-extortion and blackmail

-lying

-using the corp repuke media to revile Dems unceasingly and unmercifully

-orchestrating "Pearl Harbor-type events" and exploiting them relentlessly

-leveraging "religious" conmen and their religiously insane minions to revile the evil liberals and stage phony "culture of life" charades

-mobilizing gangs of neocon staffers to violently intimidate anyone on the other side

12. Think of the 2000 election...
and the Republican officials who sent busloads of people down to Florida, then gave them "Sore-Loserman" signs. I think we know how they'd react.
