My letter to CNN came back stamped "Return to Sender"
I sent a letter to Jonathan Klein, the new president of CNN, which I also posted on DU here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1775052#1775103
(It got 23 votes for the "GreatestPage." Woo-hoo.)

Anyway, it came back in yesterday's mail stamped "Returned to sender. Forwarding order expired."

I got the address I used from the Media Research Center, here:
http://www.mrc.org/MediaAddresses/mediaaddresses.asp

The address was this:
P.O. Box 105366
One CNN Center
Atlanta, Georgia 30348

They still talk about being in Atlanta. I can't believe this letter couldn't get to them.

Apparently CNN doesn't want to receive snail mail. They don't have any address anywhere on their website that I can find. (Their German site has an address in Germany, but no U.S. addresses.)

3. I've been looking and
I can't find him at the Time Warner site at all.

Here is a page from the site with other addresses and phone #'s. It might be good to send them a copy also and if you call one of them maybe they could give you the address for Klein.

http://www.timewarner.com/corp/newsroom/contacts_resources.html

It was a real good letter and should be read.

11. Thanks.
I think I'll send a copy to one of the "corporate communications" folks in NY. Maybe I'll also just try sending to Klein at the One Time Warner Center address, since all the NY people seem to have that same basic address and another post (#8) says he's working in NY, not Atlanta.

6. Call them up and ask for their address.

If it happens again, give the story on CNN bouncing their mail to Olberman.

8. This says he works in their New York Office
CNN switches news chiefs
'60 Minutes' alumnus becomes fifth person to run network's domestic operations since 1997.

The revolving door that leads to the news chief's office at CNN/U.S. spun again Monday, ushering in former CBS executive Jonathan Klein and spitting out Princell Hair, who was in charge for just 14 months.

Klein, who oversaw "60 Minutes" during his CBS days, is the fifth person to run CNN's domestic news operations since 1997. By contrast, CNN's biggest rival, Fox News Channel, has had most of the same faces in upper management from the day it went on the air in 1996.

Since 1998, Jonathan Klein has worked the online news service he started.

Princell Hair becomes senior VP of program and talent development for CNN News Group.

Unlike his predecessors at CNN, Klein will work out of New York, not Atlanta, a switch that exhumed questions about the entire cable news operation migrating north.

"The answer is emphatically no," said CNN News Group President Jim Walton, Klein's boss. "It would not make sense" to duplicate the network infrastructure in Atlanta, where CNN operates under the Turner Broadcasting umbrella.

10. Snail Mail
What are you doing sending snail-mail anyway? It's not worth paying the postage for something that will just be thrown out.

13. Welcome to DU.
Everyone who works in offices of public figures always says that physical letters have the most impact and carry the most weight, phone calls are next, emails are almost completely ignored except sometimes to count them. They know that you have to go out of your way and break your normal routine to send a physical letter, and you can sit right where you are and click a button to send a blast-bot email.
