Poll question: Which candidate combination would be better for America?
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 03:15 AM by KaraokeKarlton
The Washington Insiders or the Washington Outsiders?

On Edit:

I don't think either of these tickets or combinations will be a reality, and that's not the point of the poll.

The point is...what kind of political team do you have more faith in getting things done...the Insiders or the Outsiders.

2. Now that Kerry is attacking Clark like he attacked Dean
I somehow doubt that there will be any kind of pairing between Kerry and Clark. I'm not saying I think either of these pairings would ever actually happen. I'm just asking which one people think would be better for our country and get more done.

14. Kerry clearly does it as a tactic
and not out of conviction, so I'm not sure. But I wasn't talking about what was likely, I was talking about what I would prefer. Clark said long ago that he was looking outside the candidate field for a running mate--should the need arise.

3. Kerry/Edwards; the only choice...
A Northener and Southener, more polished and without baggage.

I like both Dean and Clark but they make too many verbal gaffes, with them I won't get any sleep until November.

15. No baggage?
Do you mean they haven't attacked each other, or the Repubs have nothing to attack them on? The Repubs have had a script for attacking Kerry for decades.

26. I'm talking about skeletons in Edwards' closet...
I don't think there are any that scandals can be created out of.

4. Clark has already said he won't veep for Dean
The strongest possible ticket is Clark/Graham in my opinion

Win FL, win AR, win MO, win LA

7. No DLC and no PNAC would be the best
Dean/Clark. I said it months ago and it's just as true now (despite the General's reluctance) - this ticket would bury Bush.

17. I would hardly call it an insiders v. outsiders campaign
considering Dean's strong, past DLC ties, and Clark's ties with Clinton. You just make a biased poll all ya'd like

19. What's the point, when outsiders are running to be insiders?
Once they're elected, they will all become insiders anyway.

I think the whole insider/outsider comparison is a crutch for people who want to avoid thinking.

22. Pro-war ticket vs Anti-war ticket - should be a no brainer.
Alas, the DLC crowd favors the pro-warriors because they're not "too-liberal".

Kerry/Edwards second best I think. Dean/Edwards makes sense. Clark/Kerry too.

29. The absolute best combination the Dems could run is...

John Edwards / Bill Richardson

Richardson adds the "gravitas" of foreign policy experience (ambassador to UN), balances geographically east-west, neutralizes Bush's push with the latino community putting the first latino on a national ticket in our history... and a latino that will not make the white folk "uncomfortable".

It really is an unbeatable combination. It's the only combination that has the capability of topping 300 electoral votes.

Kerry won't win any state south of the Ohio River. He will lose every state between the Mississippi river and the Rocky Mountains with the exception of Minnesota. It's a Bob Dole candidacy folks.

Sadly, I fear my party will shoot itself in the foot, as it almost always does (with the exception of 1992) by nominating the stale, boring, old, and dull. In other words, John Kerry.
