Democrats had more respect for the minority when they were the majority
That is why they permitted rules and practices where Republican Senators could put down a "blue slip" and hold up any judicial nominee that might be from their state. Many of the 69 Clinton nominees were bottled up in committee because of the Democratic respect for the minority.

However, when the Repubs solidified their majority in the Senate, they did not offer the same respect to the Democrats. Led by Orrin Hatch, they did away with the "blue slip" practice and left Democrats without the same leverage they themselves were given when Democrats were the majority. Democrats could learn a lesson here.

1. "Democrats could learn a lesson here."
That lesson would be not to trust the Repukes on anything they say,
words are cheap. What determines anyone's credibility is the actions they perform, not the words from their mouths.

They also have to learn that their Repuke opponents don't have any real respect for them, and that if given the chance the Repukes will
screw them all the time, and not even kiss them!!!!

3. And what would that be?
What's the lesson? Play shitty because the other side plays shitty too?

If that's the case, then how can we teach our kids how to play strong, play fair, and play true?

4. Defend yourself with whatever means it takes.
Or die. Take your choice.

these banana republicans are so transparent. they'll say whatever argument suits their purpose at the time. states rights triumph when one state wants to ban evolution from classrooms or disenfranchise ex-cons, but federal rights triumph when shrub might lose a recount.

if a democrat ever wins the presidency again, then, once again, it will be patriotic to challenge the president and supporting the troops will no longer mean you have to support the president. and lying will once again become impeachable, no matter how irrelevant or private the lie, even though defrauding the public and is fine even when soldiers and innocents die as a result.

7. Oh, absolutely...
and the Democrats will change the rules to weaken our Party and to give power back to the minority. When, they couild take the opportunity to make radical changes and give our people healthcare and work on issues that areimportant to the people, using the same rules the Repubs are using now. The opportunity will eventually be there for us and our Party will blow it, I am sure.

10. This was the idea, certainly...
Filibustered over 50% of Clinton's nominations in the last two years in an attempt to leave more open judicial nominees for *...

And it WORKED...except...

They can't get their (sloppy seconds) nominations through BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROCEDURES!!!

Irony, or hypocrisy, or both?
