Who will bring us a national health care and transportation system?
In 2008 I want to know we will nominate someone who will take these issues seriously. We are the only industrialized country without both of these things and we need to catch up. I want the defense budget slashed and and new regulations on big business. I also want some who understands what life is really like in the ghetto and figure out a way to help these people. Who can do this?

2. Damn good question!
It's time for some accountability, and someone to take up some real issues and do something that actually makes sense in this country. do we have to wait till 08? Where's that impeachment thread?

3. A candidate like that was running in the 2004 primaries, but
the media never mentioned him unless it was to ridicule him, and there were whole posses of DUers who supported other candidates and who ridiculed the only advocate of single-payer health care and public transit as "fringe" and "far left."

4. You mean Kucinich?
I like him a lot and respect him, but I think he would be un-electable at this time. Also he's a congressman and we should run a govenor in 2008. Any govenors you like?

5. Not any that would advocate for single-payer health care and
mass transit.

By the way, anybody is electable if promoted properly.

Kerry should have been electable in a landslide, he was so much more qualified than the Bushboy. His margin should have been cheat-proof like Lyndon Johnson's over Goldwater.

But no, he ran a lousy campaign, and the race was close enough to steal.

6. IIRC, Kucinich wasn't the only one.
I remember Carol Moseley-Braun also endorsing single payer. I think Sharpton might have, too, but can't remember for sure.

8. There ARE a handful of Democrats who support those issues.
You can find them here:
http://www.pdamerica.org/

Also, You would love Bernie Sanders (I,Vt.).
Check out his website, or listen to his radio show every Friday at 11AM Central on Thom Hartmann:

All of your issues are specifically and clearly listed in the Green Party Platform:
