Didn't Bush say that we are going to Mars? What happened with that? If I recall it was touted with much fanfare. About the only thing that came from it was the space telescope being mothballed. The republicans don't like the space telescope because they fear it might 'find God' or proof of the big bang. Didn't Bush promise 6 billion dollars to battle AIDS in Africa? Whatever happened with that one? It got big applause during a SOU speech then we never heard anything about it again. And what about the billions that Bush promised for research into alternative fuel and developing a hydrogen based engine? If I recall correctly,that was another state of the union promise. Has Bush even mentioned it a single time since making the promise? AT the time he was under pressure for being all about big oil. What other big bold 'promises' has Bush made to get applause that were shelved the next day? Why does the press never mention any of this? What if CLinton had made these promises?

8. What you have is a diversion

I knew all along that bush had no intention of going to mars, going to the moon, converting us to hydrogen fuel, upgrading bio-diesel, having a national energy policy, curing aids, etc. etc. The purpose is to fool people into thinking he's out to do any more than making the rich richer and turning our nation into a christianized version of Saudi Arabia. It's an attempt to get support from people who don't drool and knuckledrag so much and unfortunately it works. Makes the unintiated think he's a real president not a freeper troll political operative.
