HuffPost: "Don't Mourn. Organize"
"Yesterday's funeral tribute to labor leader Miguel Contreras was a "three helicopter event", as we say in L.A. I've never witnessed such a show of power, certainly not in the name of the poor and powerless. It was quite beautiful; Miguel would have loved it. Nearly 5000 people jammed into the Cathedral of our Lady of Angels, with red t-shirt clad janitors and restaurant workers in reserved seats in the front rows. I saw at least two congresspeople, top national labor brass, and every state and local politician imaginable. Noticeable contrast: Mayor Hahn strolling around, looking lost, alone, after taking communion."

3. Surprisingly...
Even people like John Fund and Byron York are coming off well on there. Arianna may have invented "The Salon of The Commons" there, where people discuss more than polemicize.

This bodes well. It gets to my thoughts that there is a deep and growing bone-weariness with all the nasty polemic and a desire to start talking again. I would imagine more than a few on the right take a look at the fundies and recoil at what they are seeing from their own side.

6. Dialog
real hashing out of problems. Critical thinking, my goodness how dare they! It is very nice. You can hear the others screaming even when you are reading them. I know I am bone weary of it all. I never mind listening to the other side as long as what they present is presented with the premise that I am intellegent and thoughtful.

Perhaps her blog will start a trend? We could really make some ground if we could all actually talk. If that happened Bush** would be outta here.
