My letter to editor/publisher

Here is what I have written to the Editor/Publisher of one of the local papers in the Quad-City are. Suggestions are greatly appreciated and I want to be sure I have my facts correct. I will wait a bit before hitting "send". Thanks in advance, Jenn

Why are you not covering this issue? Why do you always try to protect this regime? Are you not bothered that there is now irrefutable evidence that we went to war with Iraq BASED ON LIES? Does it not bother you we have killed tens of thousands of innocents, based on LIES? Does it not bother you we have blood on OUR hands because these atrocities have been committed in our name?

When will you stop protecting these fascists and do what is right for YOUR country? Does none of this scare you: The Patriot Act, Abu Ghraib, or PNACer's in high positions (Negroponte, Wolfowitz, now, probably Bolton)?

What about Sibel Edmonds, the FBI translator who can PROVE that something was terribly amiss pre-911. When she spoke out concerning erroneous translations regarding terrorist activity, she was fired and a gag-order imposed on her. Now, the same judge that "exonerated" Ollie North and ruled Cheney's Energy Commission meeting records could be kept secret, has ruled Edmonds cannot proceed further with her suit to force disclosure.

How about Jeff Guckart, the gay, male prostitute/fake reporter who was given a press pass by the Secret Service and who set in on press conferences, lobbing lightweight questions, not to mention the 200 plus times he was in the White House, many times not signing in or out?

Does it not bother you that Mr. Bush was riding a bicycle in Maryland on Wednesday when the WH was evacuated and Mrs. Bush taken to safety? I wonder if he was carrying his copy of "My Pet Goat" with him THIS time? Mr. Bush didn't even KNOW about the perceived threat, let alone the Mayor of DC, until after the fact.

Ill winds are blowing. WE, the people, used to be able to count on our journalists to keep us properly informed. Something is amiss, terribly amiss, and you and others in your profession, are letting us down abysmally. Why do you hate America so much that you would roll over and allow her demise? Have you no shame? Do you ever intend to do the right thing?

Why bother asking the media? They are controlled.

As for your letter, I'd drop the "fascist" word. Not that it isn't accurate, but people who are more right than left will stop reading at that point. Substitute something a bit more classic, like thugs or bullies, or "failed guardians of the Constitution." Think Sen Byrd in terms of style... I would also eliminate all of the CAPS -- just write the words in lower case, they have power on their own.

Those little tweaks (which suit my personality, frankly, they may not suit yours!) and I'd sign it myself!

and thank you all. The first thing I ever learned in comp was no calling names. I was quite aware I was doing so, but didn't care at the time.

That said, my credibility is important; therefore, I will make those "tweaks". And your name is???????? :rofl:
