1. Of course he knew
just like Bush knew, Cheney knew, Gonzales knew, Rice knew, Ashcroft knew. They all knew.

5. Well, to be fair, "Bush knew" is stretching it.
While he's not mentally challenged, he sure has personality disorders that create a pretty effective simulation. Unless it's part of his narcissistic supply, he just doesn't give a flying fuck.

14. Agree
We're talking about a man who wanted a head on dry ice in a cardboard box presented to him.

25. Seems more apparent that "Cheney knew" than Bush.
Seems less likely to me these days that Bush is the true instigator and/or creator of these endeavors coming from Pennsylvania Avenue.

The bike incident and "My Pet Goat" reading are pretty pivotal examples of who is dictating policy, or not dictating.

10. Of course
Anybody who says they didn't know really is fooling themselves. They could've said "stop the violence" for that specific purpose and not to torture prisoners but they did shit.

I'm sure it's true. Just wondered how much of a smoking gun this is.

7. Rummy is a War Criminal!

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. I heard this persoanly. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also proscecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

Does the US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA?

8. what a great interview...
I saw this interview as well, and thought of LIHOP and MIHOP. What she was saying scared me for her safety. She was blunt and forthright, and just told it like it was. She specifically said she wouldn't be quieted, and would keep speaking to get the truth out. Quite something to stand up and say that there is a cover up and here's who's doing what...

This coming from a brigadier General regarding those in the highest ranks of the Pentagon.

17. Why Did She Wait Until Now To Tell Us??
She didn't stand up at the time and say it, when everyone's attention was focused on it. She only tells us after she gets dinged for it.

I am not saying I don't believe her, I am saying she is no profile in courage. She seemed perfectly willing to go along with the good ole boys, until they turned on her.

20. I think they aren't allowed to speak fully while the case is active.
The government always protects itself that way. No doubt that is why Sibel Edmonds hasn't told half of what she knows and named names yet.

27. I thought she was surprisingly frank when she appeared on
Bill Maher last season. I think she has been speaking up, but as usual the MSM was not reporting her side of the story.

22. i saw most of the interview.
i think she has a lot of guts . . . i also think that if she were quieter, she would have had a fatal accident by now. i hope she keeps raising her voice and her profile.

as for not speaking out sooner . . . she regrets it, but anyone with her years of service would have done the same. she's getting scapegoated and won't sit still for it after toe-ing the line for them. i say 'go get 'em, girl!'

don't reprimand her. we need more people like her.

24. The real kicker here is that this happened to people they rounded up
off the streets. Anyone thinking "oh they only did it because it was some kind of 24 scenario and jack bauer had little time to blah blah blah" is horribly mistaken. These people were rounded up off the streets indiscriminately because this idiot administration did not prepare for the aftermath of war and were panicking trying to put a stop to the insurgency. We can all see how well this has worked. Besides tarnishing our nation, giving propaganda to the enemy, it did absolutely jack. Which is why normal, smart, capable leaders DON'T LET THIS KIND OF SHIT HAPPEN.
