2. All it did........

I watched the show tonight like I do most nights and they blew this way out of proportion. I am a Florida resident and a concealed weapons license holder so I have followed this. Just wanted to say that this did not make it legal to just shoot people. The law took away the "Duty to retreat" clause from the books. Before someone was legally required to try to run away from danger before using lethal force to combat a forceful felony. This law empowers potential victims of crime to defend themselves. I can't see anything wrong with that. Not to fuffle feathers on my first post but I am a NRA member and a traditional southern Democrat so this topic caught my eye.

4. Beg to disagree
I live in Florida too and this law is nothing more than another pander to the NRA. Name me one person who has been prosecuted in this state for defending themselves, their home or their business?

We've already got way too many shootings in this state, why do we need to justify more? How many defendants are now going to claim that they "felt threatened" as their defense and get off?

This law is a ridiculous piece of right-wing tripe. More Floridians are going to die because of it. But, on the bright side, now there'll be plenty of room in our many prisons for those dreaded marijuana users.

5. Funny and scary
Some may feel this was needed, I don't.

I will think twice about entering the state of Florida.
and any other state that follows suit.
