Why do people vote down stories about American casualties?
I simply do not understand this. There is a current Yahoo story about 7 Americans killed in Iraq. Just a minute ago, there were 141 votes and its rating was 1.5.

:wtf:

I mean, do folks think if it is rated down that they aren't dead anymore? Somebody help me get my brain around this one.

I would think that you would either (a) vote it up to show what is actually happening in Iraq (and elsewhere), or (b) vote it up to show the sacrifice our servicemembers are making.

and ask everyone to vote it down. We can help vote it back up. Also, email it and push up its recommended rating.

2. Because a lot of Americans....
...know they were duped, but refuse to believe how duped they were. We would rather be wrong than stupid.....

3. Supporting the troops
to some people means not acknowledging any problems. To others, it means acknowledging the problems so they can be dealt with.

It's the same mentality that thinks outlawing birth control will make people stop having sex.

4. How's this for irony -
When they vote it down, it still causes the story to be more popular. Can't vote on it if you don't load the page, right? So, it's currently the 2nd most popular international story on Yahoo news... http://news.yahoo.com/i/1696

they are doing their bit to keep people from learning the truth.

anytime a pro-Buscho article come out, they freep it up.

they are a very dedicated and focused lot, doing the bidding of their masters.

edited for spelling.

8. Why are you surprised?
These are some of the same people who denied reality and voted for Bush anyway. These people live the alternate universe of my country right or wrong.

I was behind a small SUV this afternoon on my way to the gym ( I live in Melbourne, FL kinda red part of the state). The SUV had an anti Jane Fonda sticker on it. It called her a traitor bitch. These people are mad at her for something that she did over 30 years ago but they think that spraying the troops in Vietnam with Agent Orange is irrelavant and that Reagan giving Saddam WMDs was ok.

These people are not rational so why are you wasting your time trying to understand them.
