2. His last name was Schroen (sp?), a former CIA officer.
Wrote a book. Knows that part of the world.

5. I saw the interview, too and it validated everything that
the anti-war folks said from the beginning. Gary Schroen, a former CIA officer, has written a book about Afghanistan that says among other things that:
- Iraq has been a massive diversion from the war in against Al-Queda
- Bin Laden escaped at Tora Bora because of our dependence on war lords
- Iraq is probably creating new momentum for Anti American feeling in the Mid East
- We are hated among Arab nations, not for who we are, but for what we do.

Timmy went so far off reservation as to play a clip of Kerry making the Tora Bora charge and then asking Schroen whether JFK was correct. Schroen said he was and that Tommy Franks was wrong about it.
All in all, it was a bitter-sweet show. You have to wonder whether this type of information would have made an impact on the election had it been given wide spread distribution.

7. Did you ever think this admin didn't want to catch OBL?
Think about it. They had motive, means, opportunity, and blew it. Maybe their thinking was that, in capturing OBL, they'd have less chance of throwing the wool over everyone's eyes regarding invading Iraq. Sounds logical to me!

9. I've thought that all along starting with the disingenuous "dead or alive"
chimp-in-chief comment that SUDDENLY demurred to the I-don't-think-much about him these days phase ...

to "catch" OBL would destroy the cozy saudi love nest shared with the busheviks, let alone the total credibility that would be bestowed to the MIHOP or LIHOP puzzle pieces that are finally coming to FULL light and verifiable plausibility (thanks to a David Ray Griffin type) without relegation to the nutwing theories ...

8. Reminds me of that Bob Dylan thing:
"You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"

All the points are a big "duh" for anyone who was paying attention before the war and after, but I suppose its nice that the coporate media is letting the fact that this thing is completely desperate and screwed up filter a bit into the propaganda machine, hopefully to begin the process of our disengagement from the debacle.
