I don't think Hillary will run for Pres.
She needs another term in the Senate before running, and probably she wouldn't want to go through all the shit again from running. We never talk about the fact that being president takes a lot out of a person, and their families. Hillary took a lot of crap and heat during Bill's term and she may not want to go through that again. Would she be a good president? Yes. Could she probably be the first woman presidnet? Yes. But, I still don't think she will run. The only way is if the Republicans run a horrible candidant.

1. I don't understand the "she needs another term in the Senate" thing
She can run while being a Senator and you don't need a certain number of terms as Senator to run.

2. If the Republicans run
a horrible candidate? LOL, I did not know there were any other kinds!

Who knows what she will do. She is certainly being handed to us by all the media but who really knows what she wants to do? Time will tell.

Hillary will be such a target for the RW. They hate Bill.

Gore got more votes than Bush.

4. But they need to accept and use Bill Clinton this time
I think that was a huge mistake by Gore in 2000, eventhough the election was stolen. Bill is loved a lot more that he is hated.

8. So true
A huge mistake by Gore.

However, on the OP subject, I don't see Hillary running in 2008. We're getting the MSM blast on her just now, but there's a long time to go on this and the field will change and change and change before we know its final shape. I think Hillary's a great Democrat and I admire her, but I can't imagine she wants to live through a presidential run with what will be thrown at her by the right wing. Now, they will do it to whomever we run, no mistaking that, and we will have to fight like tigers defending our own cubs, but with Hillary it would be a thousand times worse than swift boat liars ever dreamed of being against Kerry. I also think she likes being Senator from New York. So I'm letting this all blow out in the press and see where we land after 2006.

we can show them how much better he and Al were for their 401k

5. I agree with you about her not running
I like her. She is an extremely bright person. She finished ahead of her husband in Yale Law School. But, she just has too many negatives. I don't think either one of them(Hilary and Bill) want to go through the shit the wingnuts will throw in their direction.

6. There isn't a chance in hell
The Republicans use her as a "bogeyman". They're more interested in her than we are!

7. I sure hope not, because it would be a disaster and an embarassment
Too much baggage. Tailor made for Rove and his minions to destroy. They would beat home her support of job offshoring, immediately striking a chord with the fence-sitting working class. She wouldn't turn one red state because she's a Clinton and hated due to 12 years of blame that continues to this day.

9. I think she will run, that is, if she intends to ever run.
I don't think she will wait until 2012 if she has intentions of ever running. This will be an open primary for both parties (2008) with no incumbent and will no doubt have lots of hopefuls on both sides since once the nomination is secured, it will be the easiest going a candidate can have. If she would pass on 2008, what would happen to her chances if a Democrat wins? She'd be looking at 2016 at the earliest. If I thought she wanted to be the first woman V.P., that would be a possibility, but I believe she wants to be president, not V.P.

10. I don't think she should run either...
As much as I admire and respect her, I don't think she's electable in '08. It really pains me to say it, but thanks to the "Rapture Right" and their cancerous "Moral Values of Intolerance" spread, this country is about as likely to elect a woman candidate as they were in 1956. The right blames Hillary for everything, and she has become their favorite whipping boy (taking this dubious honor away from Ted Kennedy if that is at all possible)... and the left over hatred for her Husband will only rally the base and damage her by association. As much as we hate to see it, the radical views of the Religious Zealots are having a ripple effect in this country. This tide of the hate laden righteousness is turning back the clock on the progressive strides we have made. I mean if we're starting to backslide on matters such as the teaching of evolution in schools, and a woman's right to birth control (not to mention abortion), what makes you think that all the progress we've made in terms of leadership roles of Women isn't going to take a hit too?

Don't get me wrong... I think Hillary Clinton would make a wonderful President, and I think she could really help put our nation back on track if elected. I may be way off base, and I hope I'm wrong about the observations that I've made... but my fear is I'm not.
