Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, the likely Democratic candidate for Governor next year, leads Pataki 53 - 32 percent, compared to 54 - 30 percent February 10.

Spitzer buries possible Republican candidate William Weld 60 - 16 percent.

Spitzer has a 57 - 17 percent approval rating.

But that man needs to move up in NY state government, then move into national government. He's a leader who would do wonders for the entire country.

5. Those are Barak Obama numbers. Is there a single Republican who gets the
kind of love Obama got from Illinois and Sptizer is getting from NY?

Why is it that it's Democrats who are generating this kind of across-the-board enthusiasm.

(In those numbers are a lot of Republicans.)

6. the other day I was taking stock of our young leaders
and theirs. obviouly I am wildly biased but I have difficulty seeing any leaders on that side.

7. With Republicans, the good ones are a dying breed (Collins, ME) and the
tolerable ones are all getting very old (McCain). And their movie stars get less popular by the day.
