Sorry if dupe....

This goes all the way to the White House and maybe that will finally come out.

Judge Throws Out England's Guilty Plea

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050504/ap_on_re_us/prisoner_abuse_england

FORT HOOD, Texas - A military judge Wednesday threw out Pfc. Lynndie England's guilty plea to abusing Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison, saying he was not convinced the Army reservist who appeared in some of the most notorious photos in the scandal knew her actions were wrong at the time.

1. I doubt it has anything to do with the WH
I can see exactly where the judge is coming from - in fact I may agree with him.

4. England is not up to speed, mentally.
It would appear that she should never have been in the Army. I don't see this leading to the White House either. Grainer's apparently willing to be the fall guy.

5. I DO Agree With the Judge
Edited on Wed May-04-05 05:22 PM by AndyTiedye
I don't want a guilty plea, I want a TRIAL with TESTIMONY.
"only following orders" is not a defense, but I want to see
the people who GAVE the orders go down!

If the judge has any love for the America we once knew, he does too.

10. I disagree, only following orders can be a defense
Granted I don't think that it's legitimate in Lyndie's case because I don't believe that she even pondered objecting. I think that commanders probably threaten to throw your ass in military prison for the rest of your life if you don't follow orders, so I think that it can be a legitimate defense.

11. It is your duty in the military to not carry out unlawful orders.
But there is a hierarchy. I'd be willing to bet England didn't follw it. She's toast.

8. It has lots to do with the WH
The WH knew exactly what was going on ever since the Gonzalez "torture memos". This is a promising start.

9. NBC News says judge's decision based on "photos as training aid" testimony
"The mistrial came after Graner, the reputed ringleader of the abuse, testified as a defense witness at England's sentencing hearing that pictures he took of England holding a naked prisoner on a leash at Abu Ghraib were meant to be used as a legitimate training aid for other guards."

I CANNOT imagine how those pictures were a legitimate training aid. Especially the ones that we haven't seen, but which Sy Hersh and some members of Congress have seen.

This won't go to the White House. It will just be whitewashed.

Training aid, my ass.
:grr:
