What is it with these "sons and daughters of sharecroppers..."?
C. Boyden Gray, the old viper from Poppy Bush's disastrous Administration in on C-SPAN pushing Jr's judicial nominations. They decided to start early this week...So we can guess what is going to be on the Congressional agenda.

Showing short film clips of Janice Brown, the daughter of a "sharecropper". What the hell does that have to do with anything? Wasn't Clarence Thomas a son of a "sharecropper"? Look what a dismal failure he has been. He certainly has not been a spokesman for "his" people.

1. yesterday's trib- they got the memo
no mention of owens, and her enron ties, no mention of any corruption that these people are involved in. they are painted as just trying to inject christianity into the law. as if that is not enough.

***
One is an Alabama sharecropper's daughter who became the California Supreme Court's first black woman justice. Yet Janice Rogers Brown's critics say she has described government as "a goody bag to solve our private problems" and redistribute wealth and power.

Another was first in her law school class and achieved the highest score on the Texas bar exam. But opponents of Texas Supreme Court Justice Priscilla Owen accuse her of judicial activism, saying she has tried to rewrite Texas law from the bench to fit her anti-abortion views.

Yet another, as Alabama's attorney general, sided with a federal court in a controversial case involving removal from a state building of a monument to the 10 Commandments. But many Democrats point out William Pryor opposes gay rights and has called Roe vs. Wade "the worst abomination of constitutional law in our history.

Why all the hubbub over Bush's nominees?

2. It's another cooptation (is that a word?) of a liberal technique....
It's also another attempt to make make Republicans look like the are
not the party of the wealthy and racist (they want to promote the Help!)

3. Do we even know if it's true?
Can't take any RW spin at face value these days.
