Republicans Exploit Religion
Bush backed way off that tonight, way way back. That's a winner, we have to keep hammering on that. Republicans exploit religion AND America DOES NOT want the religious running their lives. If we didn't learn this by Bush's behavior tonight, we really are a party of idiots.

1. The GOP use the religious without shame
Bush may have backed off but Rove is out there building his data base in hopes that an issue like Gay rights might come around again, so he can exploit it and herd the far right into the GOP once again.

3. I think you're on to something
I noticed on recent CSpan calls that there were a remarkable number of Republicans calling in upset about religion being used as a political tool. Maybe it's finally dawning on them.

5. Exactly
So true. It should be something to talk about for 2006/2008. Even on this Christian board I frequent someone asked if politics and religion should be mixed and basically everybody said "no". These people for the most part are 90-95% Bush supporters and republicans (at least me and someone else on there is democratic).
