3. I know teachers who swear the only time they get to teach
the way they want to is four weeks in late spring, after the testing is all over.

It's a sucky time to be in any profession. They're all being destroyed by the greedy, the stupid, and the simlplistic.

6. can't think.....mad enough to spit.....
gimme my money.... you unfundedmandatemonkey

... another histroy book fell apart today.... the kid duct taped it back together and traded it for a punk rock kid's book.... and there was temporary peace in the land.

Then we all remembered that those suck ass SOL tests are coming up (not that I disagree with some degree of standardized testing) and the race was on.....

My mother (public school speech teacher) literally screamed in frustration when he started talking about NCLB.

8. I can't think of any.
Amazingly enough, there are a few (I think three) teachers in ah-nold's commericals attacking teachers. It's sick.

20. THOSE teachers should all get together....
with their bibles and rifles in one room and used both simultaneously.

They need to exercise their 1st and 2nd amendment rights zealously.

15. The Republican teachers that they let into his town hall meetins.
All two of them.

Actually they weren't really teachers. They were actors that Rove hired to flesh out the panel in terms of profession (if they hit the jackpot they can get a black or latino actor and kill two birds with one stone.)

The just don't tell the Chimp that.

16. My friend, a teacher who voted Republican
was bitching to me the other night about all the tests Nevada makes fourth graders take (I think she said they had 8 rounds of testing; could have been 6; either way, that's too damn much testing) & how tired she & the kids are of all the tests & how she can't really teach because they have to focus on all the tests blah blah blah.

There was a pause. I admit I could not resist myself. I was mean.

I said "Well, at least the gays can't get married."

LOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG silence, because she had told me back in July that was why she was voting for Bush. Well, now it's staring her in the face & she's starting to realize that maybe voting cultural issues over her own best interests isn't the smartest thing in the world.

Yeah, she's a big fan of NCLB....NOT

22. The ones that were paid to say so with our tax dollars.
Remember, B*'s staff doesn't let him hear anything he doesn't want to hear (per Condi in the 9/11 Commission Hearings), and they're willing to pay anyone to say whatever Bush wants them to say.
