Republican lemmings are protected by Diebold and ES&S.
Regardless of what Republican politicians read in the polls on people's opinions regarding social security, budget deficits, cuts in Medicare, Medicaid and veteran's benefits, tax cuts for the rich, the influence of lunatic fringe fundamentalists, the move to end the judicial filibuster, and so much more, they don't care.

What politician wouldn't care about public opinion? One who knows that he/she and his/her party can't lose? How can they be so sure?

Well, consider the Diebold and ES&S touch screen voting machines, not to mention "voter felon lists" in many states. Call me a conspiracy nut if you will, but, when have we ever seen so many politicians ignore a majority of public opinion?

And where the hell are the Dems? Why aren't they shrieking about voter paper trails right now rather than a year from next October?

1. Maybe they aren't shrieking because it isn't actually rigged?
To me, that seems more likely than a Bilderberg-type conspiracy.

3. So I guess your satisfied with no voter paper trails?
Or are you content with Diebold and ES&S supplying voting machines to which only they know the computer coding?

4. I want paper trails - but if the Democrats thought Kerry was robbed...
They would be bitching a lot more than they are.

It's clear they don't believe the vote was rigged.

5. So aside from that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show?

On edit: Sorry didn't mean to be facetious. However, my origingal questions are still pertinent. How would you explain Republican indiffence to polls, or Democrats caving on everything?

6. The Republican say that they don't govern by polls.
Bill Clinton was famous for taking a poll before he would do anything. When Bush came in he said that the people elected him to do his job, and now he and the Republicans will do what they think is right regardless of what the polls say.

Of course, that's bullshit. They aren't doing what's "right." They are doing what their big money corporate sponsors want, and the people be damned. We at DU know that.

But if you ask the Rethugs why they are doing what they are doing, that is their stock answer.
