I have a friend who says he's a republican even tho he disagrees with the way the republican party is. I can't get him to tell me why he doesn't support democrats. To me it's a cultural thing. He was raised Republican and can't leave the party. Even tho he hates Bush, and hates most of everything the Neocons are agitating for.

Since I can't get him to leave the Republican party I thought that I could hook him up with an organization on the right that would help sow division and agitate against the Neocons.

Does anyone know who I should hook him up with?

1. It's a matter of ego... they hate themselves so much that they punish...
themselves and all around them by supporting their own ego.

And for some, they feel that they'll lose their masculanity if they vote Democrat.

2. Get him to subscribe to Buchanan's magazine "The American Conservative"
Pat and his friends aren't entirely anti-Bush all of the time, but they have definitely opposed the PNAC agenda.

It's a good start, at least from the right wing side.

3. There are several options....
#1 Work in stealth mode for good Democratic candidates either locally or nationally using your 'Republican' registration as a segue into conversations with other Republicans who can be swayed (the non-Kool-aid drinking Republicans)

#2 Check out the website mypartytoo.com for some info/links to sane Republican activities...often supporting moderate/liberal Republicans and, even Democrats.

#3 Switch parties and call the RNC to tell them why

4. LOL
This isn't for me. I'm a registered democrat and will be until there is no hope remaining for the party, and that feeling is receeding in my mind...

As for him, i'll send him #2.
