DeLay Results Are In - See Where Your Rep Stands
AMERICA'S FUTURE | www.ourfuture.org
-------------------------------------------------

More members of Congress are responding to the stench of corruption coming from House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's office, and are starting to speak out -- prompting DeLay to reach out publicly in an effort to defend himself. Last week, Campaign for America's Future supporters made nearly a thousand phone calls to their Representatives asking them whether they stood with democracy or DeLay. The results are in and the news for Tom DeLay is sobering.

According to your calls, a mere 20 members of Congress went on the record saying that their Majority Leader is ethically fit to serve. And a whopping 247 members of Congress declined to take a stand, suggesting that they are not confident enough in their Majority Leader to publicly vouch for his character. Of the Representatives who went on record with a clear position, 62 percent said that DeLay was not ethically fit to serve as Majority Leader.

Find out whether your Representative stands with democracy or DeLay here:

http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=3703450&l=88710

To ensure the American public knows where their members of Congress stand, today we're releasing the results of your calls to media outlets across the country. We've also sent a formal request to each member of Congress, echoing the question you asked last week - and pressing them for the answer that you and the rest of their constituents deserve: "Do they believe that Tom DeLay is ethically fit to serve as Majority Leader?"

You can read a copy of the formal request we sent to your Representative here:

http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=3703450&l=88711

Finally, to keep track of the growing chorus of voices speaking out on DeLay, we've created a web page to report what members of Congress, other politicians and pundits are saying. See "What People Are Saying about Tom DeLay" here:

http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=3703450&l=88712

Thanks to you, the pressure on Tom DeLay continues to grow, and with your continued support, we won't be letting up anytime soon.

Thank you again for all that you do, and stay tuned...

Sincerely,

Ellen S. Miller, Deputy Director
Campaign for America's Future

1. It shows my Rep Tiahrt did not take a stand. But, he is on record here
saying that he believes the left is on a witch hunt that is ridiculous and believes Delay did nothing wrong.

3. So funny
These people are so ridiculous. They witched hunted Clinton for years (ten at least). Even rightwingers have been saying DeLay should step down and resign. Good grief.

5. My guy, Henry "The Righteous" Waxman DID take a stand - for
DEMOCRACY, not the Damnable delay. I just called to give him an "attaboy."

It would be a good idea, IF YOU CAN, to call your person's local office after you check his or her stand on this. Let 'em know you're aware of this. That you're watching - and watching him or her. That you're paying attention. They all need to know that WE, THEIR BOSSES AND EMPLOYERS, are watching what they do and staying on high awareness about it. They MUST be made to realize that they're not operating in a vacuum or in the shadows, where no one sees or cares or pays any attention. Those days are LONG gone.

6. Tiahrt's office knows I watch him. They spot me at his events, I am pretty
sure and watch me the whole time. Nice to know they know who I am :)

4. I would imagine that he is figuring out what kind of "other interests"
he needs to pursue. Family at home? Wife hates Washington?
