Cancel your magazine, tell them why you cancelled (Coulter Cover) and then tell them you're subscribing to one of these magazines:

Mother Jones
The Progressive

I'm sure there are a host of other fine progressive magazines available!

I hear she was on CSPAN bitching up a storm about it, and the picture.

Coulter is, inexplicably, one of those media celebrities that pop up all too often, and talking about her seems to be a bit more appropriate than the ink wasted on Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson, neither of whom have had four best sellers. With or without the dagger.

Note that the Time poll has 83% thinking she's an asshole, with almost half a million people voting. Seems like putting her views out into the light of day isn't really such a bad thing. Let everyone who vaguely heard of her see what the fuss is about and come to their own conclusions.

Remember, we live in a dumbed-down nation. AND if enough subscriptions are canceled, it will send a powerful message that we are out here and we care and we are watching.

Really, now. Won't leave us with much, will it?

Truth is, they don't really care if a few subscriptions are cancelled. Lots of subscriptions they do, but they always get a few cranks pissing about a particular article and Teaching Them A Lesson. All magazines do, even stuff like Popular Photography, Cat Fancy and others you wouldn't think would be stirring up controversy.

Better to write a zillion letters explaining precisely why Coulter is such a pantload. They do keep track of pro- and con- letters and pay more attention to them than angry subscription-cancellers. If you're not going to read the magazine, why should they care what you think, nu?

As far as anyone just passing by and seeing the cover, that picture can't possibly give anyone a positive view of the creature.

Of course, if you just don't want to read Time any more, then by all means cancel. Or let it run out.

9. Mail them back all their postage paid subscription

solicitations as well -- the little cards that are blown in or bound into each issue. Write on them it's a protest against the Coulter treatment. Each one costs them postage and it adds up. I've heard folks who deal with this stuff admit it's pretty expensive and pretty effective. Furthermore, you can get lots more people to do it than just those who are willing to drop their subscription over one issue of the mag.

I sent a letter to the Board of Directors of "Auto Zone" telling them they've lost me as a customer as they advertise on, and therefore endorse, the Limbaugh show. I labeled him a hate monger that dealt in half truths and innuendos to stimulate disdain for anyone he labels a Liberal. The more letters they get, maybe they'll listen.....doubtful, but I felt better!
