Question on Dean & women
Quite a few women I know say they have a hard time supporting Dean. Personally I kind of like the Doctor, but not my first choice. One neighbor woman goes as far as to say that if it's Dean vs Bush, she wouldn't vote. Is there any break down or polls on Dean and support by sex? or is this all just a coincidence? Thanks

1. Do they give any reason for this?
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 11:16 AM by Egnever
It would seem that Dean would be womens first choice after all with his firm support for womens right to make their own decisions on health, his programs for support of new mothers that helped reduce child abuse by over 40%, his strong comitment to schools and his providing health care for all children in his state.

I dont know what these women you are talking to but when it comes to children and womens issues I dont think there is a better candidate out there.

Perhaps your women friends are either republicans or uninformed?

7. That was FRIST, ferkrissakes!
FRIST, that Rethuglican bastion of all goodness and light, used to go to animal shelters and "adopt" kittens, then go home and hone his surgical skills on them. He never said whether or not he anesthetized them first, only that no kitten survived any of his procedures.

Tell your friend if she can't tell one doctor from another, she should avoid getting sick. She might end up with a bastard like Frist instead of a caring doctor like Dean or his wife.

3. The majority of women I'm friends with are Dean supporters
The only one who isn't is a Bush supporter because she's anti-tax. Dean has plenty of support from women, the only poll I remember seeing was from a few months ago and it showed that Dean's support was pretty evenly divided among women and men.

There are also many female DUers who are also Dean supporters.

5. He does well with women
They tried to damage his credibility by suggesting that he knowingly supported a state trooper who was abusive to his wife. That slur was released just prior to the Iowa caucus when they were really turning up the heat on him. It would be one thing to attack his record, but that was disgusting. Wonder who was behind it?

6. Why would they have a hard time?
Is it because they are gullible and believe the media's hysterical rantings, calling Dean a hysterical ranter? Tell them to watch his interview, debates or even the speech where he screeched. What does he say that is anti-woman?

If she won't vote for Dean against Bush, then I guess she doesn't really care about the Bush Cabal's destruction of this great nation. You know if you're not part of the solution...
