Video of Clark event last night
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 07:41 PM by Clark2008
http://www.dogfight04.com/WesleyClarkSpeechOnly.mov

This will be the first time we've handled a VideoCast (see below) here at The Insurgent Political Campaign. And it's only appropriate that it is about the original Insurgent Campaigner, General Wesley Clark.

ClarknybmpI was there last night, a few feet from Wes Clark, as he spoke to a crowd of obvious supporters. While the speech was LiveBlogged at dKos, which created a helluva splash when the Blogger called it 'The Announcement', another of the Clark supporters, Gar M., had a good quality vid cam and offered to share the video of the speech with this blog and The Political Dogfight. It was a rousing speech that hit on many important topics. And Wes Clark has learned the value of the 'soundbite' too!

You'll see. It wasn't a technical announcement. But you can judge for yourself.

4. I know. I'm on dialup and this likely will take an hour or two.
I have a fast processor, but still on dialup (I get nearly the ful 56 K, though, which is good).

I guess I'll just let it perk. Good things are worth the wait. :)

3. Long download and
when I got to the end of it --nothing. Perhaps I am missing something criticial on my computer? I did a search looking for any new .mov files but there were none.

5. Do you have Quick Time?
It doesn't show up as a download on my machine, but I can tell from the slowness of everything else that it's pulling the info down.

6. No, I don't
Will have to try to get it. Is that what a .mov extension means?

9. I had a problem with it, too.
20 minutes of downloading, and all I see is a broken-file image (Quicktime broken film).

Maybe there's an update or something we don't have, Sharon.

8. There's no question
He's running

Even if there was no formal declaration. He was speaking about the future, but that future is clear as a bell.

The call to action is around his website, staying involved in the issues and in the Democratic Party.

:loveya:

11.  It is available on a mirror site. The url is posted on
dogfight's blog on Daily Kos with the title "The only video available of Wes's Speech" (in the recommended section). The original poster, dogfight04 has had his service suspended so he doesn't have the video available anymore, but check the thread because someone posted a mirror site for it about ten posts down. I just watched it a little while ago, and it is brilliant. I am enthralled, my spririt renewed! :)

I'm just wondering if there's any way for me to get it from someone who's already downloaded it.

16. This little announcement flap
is the sort of thing that happens with inexperienced candidates. This is why you don't run inexperienced candidates against Republicans who don't play nice at the Presidential level.

23. I wasn't the candidate..
and am obviously not privy to the inside information..

But I wanted my candidate to fight for me and my rights..

It's a sorry state of affairs when the *GREEN* Party had to file the lawsuits in Ohio.

What would I have done? I would make tons and tons of noise. I'd find the most aggressive and intelligent sharks^h^h^h^h^h^hlawyers to challenge the Republicans at every level and even if it destroys my political career forever, I would not take it lying down.

I believe Clark has that passion and tenacity. Probably Dean, Sharpton, and even Edwards too. In 2008, I want a fighter to be my candidate.

31. They were also white men.
Maybe we should not run any more white men for office since that didn't work. They were married, let's not run another married person. I don't agree with that kind of oversimplified logic.

30. The one where he says he's going to run,
but the realizes he phrased it poorly so he has to backtrack and say he hasn't decided yet. It makes him look like an amateur.

32. No, he didn't phrase anything poorly and he hasn't backtracked
on anything. Some of his supporters jumped the gun a little in their excitement, and now more sober minds are clarifying exactly what was and was not said. So far as I know, Clark has made no official statement about anything that he said at that event, and there's really no reason to as he didn't say anything out of line. I watched the video, and didn't see anything out of line. I would urge anyone else with questions to watch the video and judge for themselves.

I don't expect you to agree with that assessment. I'm putting this out there for other people so that they don't get incorrect information.

to supporters. Do you think that no candidate has ever done that before?
