1. hmm...would he run for Senate in CA?
We have an incumbent Democrat that needs to be knocked out in the primary.

5. no...
we don't. There should be a basic rule that until you have all state-level positions you don't knock out unkosher incumbents. we need the california governor's office before you could even suggest challenging an incumbent senator

2. Who is he? Looks familiar, but he's not Robert Culp.
Would like to see Richard Gere go at it...

10. in a heartbeat . . .
Edited on Sat Apr-16-05 05:37 PM by OneBlueSky
pair him with someone with impeccable foreign policy/defense credentials, and we have a winning ticket . . . he's smarter, better informed, and more attractive than any of the other candidates that are being mentioned, and he's not beholden to any corporate interests (as ALL of the rest are) . . . I've liked this idea for a long time, and it looks better every day . . . if they can win two terms by running a third rate actor with a third rate mind, we can certainly win with a first rate actor with a first rate mind . . . and a committed environmentalist as well -- something we desperately need in the White House . . .

besides, it would drive the Repugs batshit . . .

on edit: another advantage is that he's someone that people would actually LISTEN to . . . because they don't view him as a politician . . . he could be the one to explain why injecting religion into politics would mark the end of our nation and make people understand it . . . and all of the other issues that just draw blank stares when politicians raise them . . . running a non-politician is, in and of itself, a great strategy . . .
