Byron Dork On "Daily Show": "Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy"
Holy God, he even had the balls to (very selectively mis-) quote DailyKos:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/4/5/165018/2703

The real quote:

It'll be interesting to see what crazy theories York has cooked up for the book because quite frankly, he's about 2-5 years too early on this. We ARE building a Vast Left Wing Conspiracy to rival the $300 million conservatives spent on theirs every year. But we are but a seedling at this point. Not very "vast", in other words.

What York The Dork said (paraphrasing):

My favorite quote, from DailyKos, a left-wing blog, is this: "We ARE building a Vast Left Wing Conspiracy."

I'll give the Dork this much: after he walked out to the sound of light, polite applause, he painted himself and his book as a nonpartisan (almost admiring) analysis. Jon Stewart pretty much gave him a free pass on it, and he left to greater applause than he came out to.

Beware of that. It's the next tactic.

1. I have a serious request
PLEASE don't use clever made-up names for repulsive people who are not well-known public figures. I know that York is your basic high-octane tool of the Rectal Right, but I couldn't figure out who you were talking about, and the page was slow to load.

A lot of the other "cute" names also can get tedious, but it's no crime. It's much, much easier to not have to decode the names all the time. I personally prefer to use the real names of the creeps ... but that's just me.

Thanks!

2. KUDOS to Jon for his handling of this guy!
He was TOTALLY polite and accommadating (sic?)

He was a polite HOST to this guy; completely the OPPOSITE of the R-fascist asshats on the 'real' news.

Jon is one of the last HONEST men on TV, and his kindness speaks louder than a thousand angry shouts.

3. reframing the topic
it's their favorite tactic...

couldn't watch the whole thing on CNN about DeLay -- (made me :puke: )

but in a nutshell -- the repugs are reframing things to make it appear that all of this is just a partisan-left-wing attack and there is nothing substantial to the allegations of wrong doing

what "dork" is implying is that ALL attacks on the repugs are part of the "Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" and therefore "move along...nothing to see...here have some more kook-aid you'll feel better"
