The MSM will say they're greeting him--

10. I think he'll be barely tolerated
once they figure out he's just politicking and not a Prodigal Son.

4. I hope they leave a little space around him, and look distastefully at him
or outright ignore him as if he isn't there.

5. I doubt it
Those who would make the pilgrimage are probably the kind of people who disapprove of every policy he's advocated, and the local Romans turned out in HUGE numbers for anti-war marches ... I'm curious to see how the MSM tries to cover the funeral wall-to-wall and avoid covering any protests or other evidence that Our Braindead Leader isn't exactly welcome at this event.

14. I resemble that remark.
"...wife or the psuedo-wife -- I'll let all of you decide witch is witch" :hurts:

I too am amazed that little jerk would have the nerve to show himself at the funeral. What an insult to all people of faith.

9. for him to have the hubris to attend this funeral
after we KOed the Italian "James Bond" for no frigging reason, Berlusconni has committed to withdraw his troops, * hasn't attended the funeral of a single fallen soldier, and the Pope totally dissapproved of his illegal, incompetantly executed, and completely unethical invasion of Iraq, is totally mind boggling to me. He is totally clueless.

What is he going to do? Have his thugs force the pilgrims
paying homage to the Pope sign loyalty oaths before they can enter St. Peter's Square. .? .

The Swiss Guards and the Roman security forces must be pulling their hair out over his insensitiivty.

It's just plain wrong on so many levels. Arghhhhhhh.

the Ogre in chief is treated with disgust and distain.

Knowing the cunning of these creeps It was probably a ploy asking Clinton to go with them because they know he will be welcomed with open arms.

12. Pilgrims are sleeping outside in tents. I expect 2 million people.
Anyone who has ever been to Rome knows that the people love to just be outside. The streets are already clogged and they are building tent cities. He will be completely lost. My guess is they'll have to fly him in and out.

15. let's see . . . the Secret Service will demand that all roads . . .
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 12:51 AM by OneBlueSky
leading to the Vatican be closed to the public, that all manhole covers be welded shut, that sharpshooters be stationed on St. Peter's Dome, and that the political leanings of everyone attending the service be validated as appropriate . . .

wonder how the Italian government (not to mention the Vatican) will respond to whatever ridiculous requests are made to keep our "leader" safe . . .

18. I also think that will be the scenario.
It won't matter what the Italians and pilgrims think of B*sh, because they will all be rounded up and forced behind gates, corrals and fences too far away to to have an effect on our "Little Nero".
