1. Action Alert & Printable Petition here:
Act TODAY To Stop "Nuclear Option"
3 April 2005

It is time for everybody to go the extra mile, TODAY, to save the filibuster. Several groups have launched campaigns to stop the “nuclear option”.

What is important is that liberals, progressives, Democrats and Greens, in ALL FIFTY STATES, take feet to the street action. This may be the single most critical action anyone takes in the next four years. There is always another election, judges are forever.

The Oregon Alliance for Justice has had people collecting signatures to send to Senator Gordon Smith this week. You can expand on that effort by taking that campaign to your state. Just print the petition and talking points. It is as important to be on the street talking to people, as it is to get signatures. Fax the petition to 202-822-6068 as soon as possible. Mail the hard copy to:

Andrea Loberg
Alliance for Justice
Eleven Dupont Circle NW
Second Floor
Washington, DC 20036

7. Uggh! My senator is Bill Frist (and Lamar Alexander).
Alexander is often reasonable but I can't quite see him standing up to Friston this.

8. Me, too.
I won't waste 5 seconds time on Frist. He's beyond reach.
