and welcome to DU. I think the OP's point was that there is absolutely no balance in the coverage, and that it is atleast 90-10 Pope to Iraq, if not more. I don't think he or she was saying that there is NO coverage of the horrible violence this week-end in Iraq.

8. For the last couple of days, the whole freaking world has been Catholic

it seems, and nothing else is important. The funny thing is that I get this Catholic channel on my TV, and they have been more or less silent on the Pope's death, or seems this way every time I flip pass it. Yet all the News Channels I get can't stop talking about the Pope's Death, yeah it is sad and all that stuff that he died, but come on. As a Catholic, A bad one by the way, I pray for the News Channels to actually talk about something else...there are many other things going on in the world, and they are more important than the passing of the Pope, it's not like it is a surprise that he died...he's been very ill for years, and he wasn't want one would call a spring chicken.
