Curveball's drinking problem known before Powell's UN speech.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2004-09-21-cia-spies_x.htm

German intelligence passed on information to the CIA from a source code-named "Curveball," who claimed to have direct knowledge of Iraq's mobile biological weapons labs. But a Pentagon intelligence officer believed Curveball had a drinking problem and alerted the CIA the day before Secretary of State Colin Powell made his Feb. 5, 2003, presentation to the U.N. Security Council on Iraq's alleged arsenal. The material from Curveball remained in the presentation. Similarly, the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency warned that information from a source managed by the Iraqi National Congress, an Iraqi exile group that strongly supported a U.S.-led invasion, was "assessed as unreliable and, in some instances, pure fabrication." But CIA analysts overlooked the notice.

this story came out Sept 04.

2. Which is why Powell can NEVER redeem himself
all he had to do was ask a few questions about the source of the "intelligence", he never bothered. He wouldn't know integrity if it fell on his head.

4. Until the dems start using the word
PRESSURE--And start bringing up the volumes of evidence that Cheney and Rumsfeld (at a minimum) pressured these people to come to these conclusions, the GOP will not lose a single vote on the issue.

5. The Clinton White House and Albright knew this guy was a big
fat liar back in the 90's. I think he is the same guy who said the Sudanese government tried to turn over OBL and Clinton would not take him. Chalabi fabrication - wonder how much he was paid?

I wonder? If we can find an article that says Clinton knew this guy was a flaming liar....hmmmm?

on edit: hell his name itself kind of proves that they knew he wasn't reliable. Curveball. They already knew what he was pitching.
