CNN: Backers of Schiavo's parents head to Washington(to fight Communists)

I could give a rat's ass about the rest of the article. What I wanted to point out, however, was what CNN saw as relevant to highlight early on in the piece.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- With their court battles apparently exhausted, supporters of Terri Schiavo's parents said Sunday that they would take their efforts to Washington on Monday.

The Rev. Patrick Mahoney, a conservative Christian activist who has become a prominent figure in the protests over Schiavo's case, said he will go to Washington to plead with congressional leaders and the Bush administration to enforce a subpoena issued March 18 by a House committee for the 41-year-old woman to appear before Congress.

After remarks by Randall Terry -- an activist against abortion rights who has been acting as a spokesman for Terri Schiavo's family, the Schindlers -- members of a group calling itself the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigades seized control of the microphones and blasted Terry as a "Christian fascist thug" trying to interfere in "the most intimate affairs of life and death."

WTF?????

1. My brother lives in Coconut Grove Florida
He says it is insane now in southern Florida politically and that this right to life group is made up of clowns and self-promoting egotists. He detests anything Bush.

3. leftist trainspotting
Since I started working on wiki encyclopedias, I have begun trainspotting these leftist sects (there's actually an e-mail list devoted to it)

The RCYB are the youth league of the Revolutionary Communist Party. They have a bookstore where I live (New York City). They are Maoists, which means they like Mao Zedong a lot. The leader of the RCP, Bob Avakian, fled to France after a warrant was put out for him after a protest in Washington DC (against Deng Xiaoping when he was visiting, I believe)

Their newspaper is http://www.rwor.org

I don't know all the details, but it's very possible the RCP helped in a revolt in Nepal that might topple the monarchy there and replace it with a Maoist government. If the Maoists don't all wind up killing each other before that happens. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

7. Cointelpro?
The GOP in the 1970s sent an agent named Tommy the Traveler into the anti-war movement to actually provoke violence when it was clear American opinion had turned against the Viet Nam war. Could this be something like that?

4. CNN needs to suffer some heavy karma for their complicity with
the Bush administration and the neocons that led to the deaths of our soldiers and over 120,000 Iraqis in the past two years. Fuck them!

6. Randall Terry and the RCYB should be locked in a room together
With luck, none would come out alive.
