One of the greatest liberals of all time? He legalized beer.

Prohibition of alcohol was a massive assault on individual rights perpetrated by rightwing fundies and the Roves and Reagans of their day.

Thank FDR for repealing Prohibition. Next time you raise a glass, remember to toast FDR.

4. Wonderful idea.
I have an O'Hara's or two left from St Patty's.

May your neighbors respect you,
trouble neglect you,
the angels protect you,
and heaven accept you!

5. Amen
FDR saw that prohibition of alcohol only meant that the business of distribution would fall into the hands of criminals and cause violent crime to skyrocket. If only someone was able to see that the same is true with drug prohibition today.

8. I'm happy he ended prohibition, but I'm a bit happier about other stuff
he did. I think the New Deal and his being commander in chief during WWII trump ending prohibition. But either way, he's the best President ever, IMO.
