GREAT letter to the editor printed in Kansas
The environment is being destroyed by corporations. The rights of working people are eroded. Americans are dying overseas in a phony war. Illegal immigration and the danger of terrorism go unchecked. Millions of Americans are without health care. America is experiencing the danger of record federal debt. I could go on.

Republicans have control of the House, Senate and the White House. And given all the problems America faces, their special effort is reserved to pander to the religious right in the matter of Terri Schiavo. It would be laughable were it not so sad that a woman who has been essentially dead for 15 years can bring about a special session of the House and Senate and can cause, for the first and only time, George Bush to cut short one of his many vacations to Texas.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you the GOP -- where quality of life and responsibility to a nation's future give way to political pandering and interference in the most basic and personal rights of every American.

2. Very nice indeed!
We all need to be writing the editors today! It would be nice if we could deluge the local papers with similar letters. I guess I have figured out what to do today!

3. Yes, let's all
write a letter today, but why not email your Congressmen/women, so much easier, quicker. I once wrote a letter, before I had a computer, to a Senator, disagreeing with him. Wonder of wonders, he responded. I'm going to try the email route later today, we'll see if there is any response. I must stop using that word, response, might be miscontrued, someone might think poor Terri responded.

6. better to write LTTE because its the
public we need to reach. I would actually recommend doing both. But if your cosidering an either/or I would say that a LTTE would be the better choice.
