But I might have. I don't pretend to know what God wants us to do. If I came across as saying that, it wasn't what I meant. However, in that same vein, when I see Jerry Falwell talking like he DOES know exactly what God's will is, I don't trust him, because no one can ever know that.

I think we, as Christians, need to be humble, and understand that we are no more enlightened than anyone else in society. We are just as much sinners, we are just as ignorant, and we can't go around forcing our morality on people, mainly because we don't really know whats right any more than any one else.

The Bible is fuzzy in a lot of places, but one thing is perfectly clear: we are all sinners, but we are also all forgiven. No one can go around condemning anybody else, because we are all equally guilty, but we are all also saved through grace. Once again, when I see Jerry Falwell condemn people who are "worse sinners" than he is, it infuriates me.

He always has been. I have flip-flopped on this case myself. When Ifirst heard about it a couple of years ago, I though they should keep Terri alive and I didn't like the husband much. But that was simply based on a 60 Minutes (I think) interview and notmuch else. Now I feel otherwise. All the courts have ruled against the parents so that tells me something right there- they have little merit in their side. I believe the parents are being used by the right wing, by people like Randall Terry. I despise these people (the right-wingers, not the Schindlers). They are so wrong in this case (not to mention being hypocrites all the time).
