interviewing mom and she gives her story about when ventilator cut off

mom says he looked at her, smiled

baby taken off - Hospital wanted to "end suffering", said baby would have died from genetic condition, no recovery possible

Mom does not agree, won't attend her son's funeral

Here come the talking heads...

O'R says - MEDICAL AUTHORITIES have a right to do what they did under TX law

Mom's attorney says hospital did not stabilize the child enough to allow transfer; and that in fact baby still under ER care and ER care cannot be terminated for any reason in TX, even if patient cannot pay

disputed that child would ultimately die regardless, says judge prevented an evidentiary hearing

Other guy says there was virtually no chance of survival - but says should not have gone to courts.

O'R says like Schiavo. TX law different than FL. O'R says doctor can make "final call". Other attorney says no, but O'R says the medical ethics board decides. Attorney agrees - once this decision made, there is a time to transfer but if no hosptial will take that patient the hospital can cut off treatment. O'R says that is just about a "death sentence".

Mom's atty says only the HOSPITAL can appeal to other hospitals for a transfer. Insinuates that this hospital told other hospitals that this was a "difficult family", trouble makers, and hurt their chances for transfer.
