RW has lost all right to bitch about death-row appeals
This has dragged on longer and gone through more courts than most death row cases. Had the GOP had their way, there would be no appeals, there would be no right to even bring suit. The hypocrits always want it both ways. Next time you hear a righty start bitching about the death penalty and appeals taking to long, show them a picture of The Schindlers (along with a bill for the tax dollars they are spending), and politely say "Shut the fuck up."

1. No they haven't.
As far as they're concerned, death row inmates and people on life support are not in the same universe of consideration. One deserves to die, the other needs to be kept alive so long as possible.

Never look for logic and consistency in any one person's position on such things as abortion, end-of-life care, the death penalty, health care for all,or anything at all that ultimately affects quality of life or even mere survival. And this applies all across the political spectrum.

3. It is about the appeal process, not the "right"

IMO, there are compelling reasons to keep a death row inmate alive if his guilt is indeed in doubt. Just as compelling, if not more so. Just as the Schiavos think they can drag this out forever because THEY know something WE don't, why can't they say the same thing about a death row inmate? If he swears he didn't do it, and wants to get a DNA test to exonerate him, he should be able to drag the case out forever and ever. After all, as the Schiavos are quick to point out, death is final. No going back. It's just as final for a death row inmate.

NEW NBY toon finally posted!
