3. DeLay "thought" he was talking off the record.
CNN's got audio tape!

"God had sent Terri to elevate the visibility of what's going on in America."

He used the Schiavo case to defend himself in ethics case.

He also said, "The other side has figured out how to win and defeat the conservative movement."

15. its pathetic
michael schiavo isn't looking to destroy conservatism, but rather to fulfill the commitment to his wife to "love, honor, and obey" - something the party of family values seems not to understand.

21. Wow, he really is delusional. Does he expect everyone else
in the nation to believe in his delusions too? I hope he's in for a disappointment there.

9. I do not think we have figured out how to destroy the conservative

movement in this country -by all accounts it is expanding--but perhaps DeLay himself will help in destroying some of its mean fundamental elements.

He also said, "The other side has figured out how to win and defeat the conservative movement."

12. If that's what's happening, I can't figure out what we did
 maybe it's because we forced him to do some unethical fund raising, accepting money from a lobbyist for a trip, other crap I can't think of right now and just generally being an ignorant asswipe. :eyes:

16. The Polls
Indicate majority of Americans believe they are playing politics. They should play this tape if they really have one. I wonder how many Americans would appreciate being called barbaric for allowing their OWN family members to die - liberal, conservative, blue, green, or whatever.

Apparently, the Schindler's aren't the only people divorced from reality.

18. Molly Ivins
has made several interesting comments in her column yesterday. Is she the only sane public voice coming out of Texas...

http://www.alternet.org/columnists/story/21564/

Pull the Plug on Pandering

<snip>
"For your information, while he was governor of Texas, George W. Bush signed the Advanced Directives Act in 1999, which gives hospitals the right to remove life support in cases where there is no possibility of revival, when the family cannot pay, no matter what the family's wishes are in the matter. In Texas, you can only live in a persistent vegetative state if you are accepted in one of the few institutions that provide such care or if your family is both willing and able to take care of you. And if Bush is so concerned about the right to life, why didn't he give death-row inmate Carla Faye Tucker more than 10 minutes consideration and some cheap mockery?" <snip>

20. DeLay must think that HE is the "Conservative Movement"
because, after all, it's all about ME, isn't it?

So, when DeLay says we've "figured out how to win and defeat the conservative movement" we can take that to mean that he has seen his own, eminent defeat. He knows he is going down.

Big time.
