NYT Mag 3/20 "The Politics of Ibrahim Parlak" & DHS
This article about a Kurdish immigrant to the US, online at <http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/20/magazine/20PRISON.html?>
indicates to me that the DHS, INS and FBI are so desperate
to show some activity in "combating terrorism" that they'll resort
to this "theatre of the absurd" scenario. The patriot act apparently
lets the feds lock you up for almost anything they can call terrorism. We cannot live with such intimidation. Am I wrong
about this man's case? Frankly, I view the act as a conduit for
the rethugs to siphon off OUR money to favored congressional
districts and corporations. Corruption from above, and who's the
main man? Chertoff! God help us, if he/she figures we're even
worth saving under present conditions.
