Dems' rallying cry: Republicans hate the US for our FREEDOMS.
They hate FREEDOM of choice for women.

They hate the FREEDOM of religion different from theirs.

They hate FREEDOM of no religion.

They hate FREEDOM to choose if you want to be kept alive artificially - unless, of course you are poor and can't afford to be kept alive, then they look the other way.

They hate FREEDOM of the press and work to control it at every turn. What media they don't own outright they will move to obstruct.

They hate FREEDOM of speech, if your speech is in dissent of their governance.

They hate FREEDOM from poverty. They work against legislation to assure fair living wages.

14. And since there is no separation of church and state per the right . . . .
from Jesus' Mouth to their ears . . .

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess....

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites ... ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. (Matt. 23: 23-28).

25. More from Jesus...
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer; therefore ye shall receive thy greater damnation. (Matt. 23:14)

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy and faith, these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. (Matthew 23:23-24)

38. Amazing that we left-wing Liberals would remember these quotes . . .
or even be familiar with God, Jesus, and the Bible itself. They claim to be the experts on what Jesus wanted and what the Bible says and means. How dare we even try to claim we read the word of God.

Jesus stated plainly how he hated the hypocrites. Only problem is, I honestly do not think that they think they are being hypocritical. Blinded by power obviously.

They think that if they are sitting up there in their church pews, showing everyone that they go to church, then they are better then those of us that rarely go to church but orders study bibles and such.

I live in a red state (VA); however, some of the people that voted for Bush think that by handling snakes, and if you are not bitten, that it means the "Holy Spirit is protecting you because you have such amazing faith.

There are intelligent people and all denominations here. In the backwoods you have more of your Church of God or Christ. In Town more like Lutheran and Methodist, as well as Catholic. No mosques or synagogues; however, we are a small town and do have a mosque and a synagogue about 45 minutes from here.

I now know how the Afghani's felt with the Taliban. I feel like my religion has been hijacked by these extreme Religious Right, Moral Majority, Rapture-Right thugs. They fully support a one-party majority in the whole government. I feel they think they have the world in their hands to mold as they see fit.

Yeah . . . Reagan/Bush's dreams (including Cheney and Wolfowitz and their New World Order seems to be coming along just fine for them.

PS: I wonder if we are still at war. After all, for the last 3-4 days all I have heard is Robert Blake found innocent, Michael Jackson wore pajamas to court, Social Security threats made by Bush (well, written for him to read), that poor little girl that was murdered, Scott Peterson being found guilty and will face the gas chamber, etc. Nothing on the war.

The only other thing I heard was Wolfowitz was appointed to be the President of the United Nation's World Bank. Now that is odd but they are fulfilling their own prophecy of politics.

23. They hate democracy in the US because they cannot control it.
So that is why tribalism is now encouraged within the US. The British found it an effective tool to control colonies. They called it indirect rule, double mandate, etc. The point being that you keep the little people busy with morals & customary law... and disliking each other so that they cannot get together and form a plurality and vote as a group. That way there never is a majority and the elites get to rule & take all the wealth.

The British encourage indirect rule & tribalism where there was none. Sound familiar?

Yup - George Bush and the Repukes are handing democracy to the rest of the world and trading you in for tribalism. Why? Democracy is slow and Colonial rule is very quick for the elites at the top: thumps up or down to this war, thumbs up or down to that one.

26. I sent this around
Call me uninformed,(or you can say I just haven't been paying attention for the last 20 years), but I did not know why the Middle East hated the US until I asked for help here. (For a response to an anti-Muslim email). :dunce:

So here is a consensus of what people told me and what I looked up. I apologize if everyone already knows this.

In 1953 the US backed a coup against Iran that gave the Ayatollah Khomeini a dictatorship over a country that was a democracy and had a Prime Minister. It began a long history of a suppressive regime. We took a country that was stable and destabilized it in order to gain control of its oil.

Here is a good explanation by Dr. Donald Wilber of the CIA.

The Islamic government of Ayatollah Khomeini supported terrorist attacks against American interests largely because of the long American history of supporting the shah's suppressive regime. Even under more moderate rulers, many Iranians still resent the United States' role in the coup and its support of the shah.

The coup was a turning point in modern Iranian history and remains a persistent irritant in Tehran-Washington relations. It consolidated the power of the shah, who ruled with an iron hand for 26 more years in close contact with the United States. He was toppled by Iranian Revolution of 1979. Later that year, "Students of Imam Line" went to the American Embassy, took diplomats hostage and declared that they had unmasked a "nest of spies" who had been manipulating Iran for decades.

The Islamic government of Ayatollah Khomeini supported terrorist attacks against American interests largely because of the long American history of supporting the shah's suppressive regime. Even under more moderate rulers, many Iranians still resent the United States' role in the coup and its support of the shah.

Former US Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, in an address, acknowledged the coup's pivotal role in the troubled relationship and came closer to apologizing than any American official ever has before.

"The Eisenhower administration believed its actions were justified for strategic reasons," she said. "But the coup was clearly a setback for Iran's political development. And it is easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs."

The history spells out the calculations to which Dr. Albright referred in her speech. Britain, it says, initiated the plot in 1952. The Truman administration rejected it, but President Eisenhower approved it shortly after taking office in 1953, because of fears about oil and Communism.

“In the deeply troubled Middle East, the United States not only protects the Saudi and other family dictatorships, it imposed the dictatorship of the Shah on Iran by a U.S.-organized coup in 1953, and in the 1980s it actively supported Saddam Hussein, even helping him obtain and use "weapons of mass destruction," as he fought Iran and attacked his own Kurds. The discovery that he was a bad man by invading Kuwait in 1990, and the subsequent war and extended boycott imposed on Iraq in the 1990s, may strike others as hypocritical and opportunistic. Similarly, the fact that the U.S. allows Israel alone to maintain a nuclear arsenal, and protects each and every one of its incursions into Lebanon, and steady dispossession of Palestinian homes, land, and water, arouses immense anger in the Middle East.

The American people are largely protected from understanding why large numbers hate us by politicians and pundits who demonize our enemies, stress the positives-and we do decent things, and support democracies, when not in conflict with business demands - and refuse to admit the elements of self-interest, opportunism, and double standards in our actions, that are so obvious to many people abroad.”

Dr. Donald Wilber – CIA

Please elaborate on exactly what "our cause" you're talking about. It's truth, plain, and in simple words, so that even * voters would understand it. It may be a broad brush, but it's also all true.

When did telling the truth in simple sentences become "hysterical"?

36. Best definition of the Right I've seen
It does NOT, however, define all republickers.

The right wants government to control the people. In order to control us, government must control our freedoms. Your list, blm, is a help to those who may not have a clue, and your focus on their attempts to control our FREEDOM is correct.

The Left... We don't seek a government involved in the personal lives of it's citizens. We want the government to stay out of our bedrooms.

The nosy right, standing behind and peeking around the government's broad shoulders, want to catch you in the act.
