Time for "Cool Hand Luke" Strategy?
I've seen the frustration on this board with the Dems in congress (even the ones who REALLY ARE DEMS)getting beaten by the Republican Majority on every issue of substance that comes before Congress and I share it with all of you.

But it's time we got smarter about this situation. We are hopelessly outnumbered in the House and Senate to the point where it reminds me of cool Hand Luke ....remember? Sometimes, the best hand to play is no hand? We should recognize that the Repubs are going to win but make their victories costly or meaningless....

What do you you think?

1. Anything's better than just rolling over for the repugs.
Taking the wind out of their sails would seem ok by me.

2. I agree
The Dems should STOP playing the game. When the NeoCons get up and blather on, they should just sit their in stoney silence. The only time they should talk is to fillibuster.

6. I like your thinking.

If nothing else the goal of the opposition should be to raise the profile of the democratic opposition, to get notice, to draw attention to whats going in Congress.

They label us obstructionists? I saw embrace that and define what we are obstructing: transfering money from the middle class to give to the top 1%, roll back of civil liberties, government waste, runaway defense spending, no-bid contracts for administration cronies, the destruction of social security, extremist fundamental judges, the MERGER of church and state.

Message: We are fighting for you America.

7. YES!
That's exactly what we should do. When they say that, just say, "Hell yeah we're obstructionists! We're obstructing the destruction of America!"
