The Feb. 17 Wisconsin primary will be a definitional one for the Democratic calendar, and it is likely to be a make-or-break date for Dean. He will never get to New York or California if he does not get his ticket punched here. So, instaed of perfectinghis candiates wail, Howard Dean would do well to learn the words to "On, Wisconsin."
http://www.madison.com/captimes/opinion/column/nichols/65774.phpDean still has alot of support here, especially here in Madison. Nichols says that his organization is considered the best in the state and it has been up and running for months.
This is my thought that if Dean rebounds with a win or a solid second in New Hampshire, maybe he should do what some of the other candidates are doing and pick and choose his next battle carefully. I think, perhaps, he should concentrate on only a couple of states on Feb 3rd: Arizona and New Mexico, for instance, but really concentate on the Feb 7th Democratic caucuses in Michigan and Washington. In both of these states Dean has good organziations and has had lots of support. Then I think he should also concentrate on the Feb 8th caucus in Maine. Then put all he has into winning the crucial Wisconsin primary on Feb 17th.
If he does well in Michigan, Washington, Maine, and then Wisconsin he will be well positioned for the big primaries in delegate rich states like Illinois, New York, California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
