Could it be that the Government tries to get a "Debtors Army" instead of a drafted one?

1. This reminds me of a WW II story
As the conscripted Russians and other nationalities of the Soviet Union were advancing eastward, they faced the choice either of being mowed down by the Germans from the front or by their own officers from the rear.

When you look at the world as I do, you come to the conclusion that throughout history it has been governments or corporations which control governments which have been the enemy of human freedom and individuality.

This is a libertarian philosophy which as almost as alien to the current-day Democratic Party as it is to the Repukes. But Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the party, all through his voluminous writings echoed the sentiments I just stated.

2. I think you are close...........................
I believe Shrubby and the boys have a loathing for all things FDR and are doing all they can to destroy everything the New Deal built up. I wouldn't be surprised if * introduced legislation on the heels of the bankruptcy bill passing that would allow for debt relief via military service, a la "debtors army" like you suggested.

3. Question: Is There Student Loan Forgiveness for Military Service
Since I am well past the relevant age --- but, I have heard that the military has some deal re: Paying Off/Forgiving Student Loans for people with degrees in critical areas (Nuclear Power, Cryptography, Arabic Area Studies and Languages, Medicine, etc.).

Don't know if it is true.

4. A quick search found this...................
"Military. Service in the military may qualify you for financial assistance for college tuition. Students who serve in the Army National Guard, however, may be eligible to receive up to $10,000 through their Student Loan Repayment Program. The best way to find out about the program and your eligibility is to call your local recruiter."
