2. Excellent, inspirational.

My husband's family went through WWII in Germany. Their official stance was "We knew nothing." A bit of research has revealed that to be untrue and it is more accurate to say they were afraid to take a stand against what was happening to their country and its people. Last night we agreed that we can't let history repeat itself. Bush's actions are being done IN OUR NAME. Our generation will go down in history as a ignorant at best, murderous and hate-filled more likely.

edited to remove excess "that"s

3. Please watch. AntiWar 2 - BuzzFlash - Depleted Uranium
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 11:43 PM by vickiss
This makes me cry and apologize each time. Damn this administration.

The birth defects seen in this video have taken place since the Gulf War, less than 15 years!!! Many are in the last several years! Our government is responsible for these children.!!!!!!!!!!!

We have got to find some way to stop these yahoos before they screw up even worse, if it's possible. After watching this film I'm never sure, unfortunately they can and probably will if we don't stop them. They have nuked the Earth and no one seems to really notice that much. It's the worst in Iraq, but the entire world will be affected over time.

The birth defects that will show up in US troop's children within the next few years will not be as severe as in the video, but will be terrible in themselves and costly in many, many ways.

Depleted uranium is a Weapon of Mass Destruction! And our government has been using it for YEARS!!!

Described as the Trojan Horse of nuclear war, depleted uranium is the weapon that keeps killing. The half-life of Uranium-238 is 4.5 billion years, the age of the earth. And, as Uranium-238 decays into daughter radioactive products, in four steps before turning into lead, it continues to release more radiation at each step. There is no way to turn it off, and there is no way to clean it up. It meets the US Government’s own definition of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

If you can watch this video and not feel rage against this administration, you have more self control than I do.

Any hurts I have ever caused, I sincerely apologize.
For any hurts I have felt, they are forgiven.

Let us all forgive and begin again.

We have much to do.

Peace to you all my sisters and brothers of this Earth.

on edit> wrong post. sorry kiraboo! I got carried away!

So glad video meant something to you. Share it please, it's so important.

4. I understand and respect your passion. But
you know what? The prowar people I know will only say that these children are "unfortunate casualties" of a justified war. That it was "either them or us". You know it and I know it. Do I sound cynical? I am becoming so.

5. Of course they will say that. Doesn't mean we stay silent.
We have to do more than what we have to date.

6. Of course you're right. I make it my business to insert politics
into virtually every conversation I have, in order to discover peoples' perspectives. With anybody on the cusp, or basically uninformed or even just stupid, I begin my campaign. It's the self-righteous, holier- &/or more-clever-than-thou folks that have me despairing.

7. I know. They all follow the same hymn book
and never answer a question with facts, just moral platitudes.

8. They pray for apathy and cynicism. Please don't give up yet.
In time they will all know someone that is affected by DU, then their tune will change.

There are too many soldiers there to have it not directly or indirectly affect almost everyone in this country within the next 10 years. I would bet my life on it.
