Gallup..Try as we might we cannot get people to say..
that the economy is improving in our polls. Just now on some hack show on CNBC. No bias there is there?

3. Polls only show emotion about the economy...
... and not the actual state of the economy. Individuals usually don't know much outside their own corner of the economy.

Emotion does matter, though. For instance, a small panic could spread into a big panic and cause some self-fulfilling prophecies.

b. very strong now that president bush is in office
c. in excellent condition thanks to president bush
