3. my guess is
There are plenty of people on the right who are up too their eyeballs in debt too and they realize they are going to get screwed by this thing also. Too bad they didn't think of that before they voted all these right-wing asshats into office.

4. It was suggested in a thread that DU and FR team up on this one
While I think that's a bad idea, perhaps some of the more conservative, "patriotic" folk are waking up to the sham being foisted on the country by shrub and the neocons. Sooner or later (probably after it is too late), they will see where we are headed.

I'm new to this discussion, what is the bankruptcy bill, and why are we teaming up with right-wingers to stop it?

8. Most of the people I know who have invested in the stock market are
Repugs and off and on, have lost a good amount of money in the market. They think it is really stupid to have our retirement security of any kind of investment. Some of them have filed bankruptcy too. They are beginning to think they voted the wrong way....LMAO

9. Lets link up with this guy-Paul Craig Roberts, rabid anti Bush con.

Sycophantic Media Abandons Professional Standards

By Paul Craig Roberts (Major conservative intellectual since early '80's. He publishes a column frequently and just totally rocks. Why not link up with him.

The conservative media will never recover from its role as Chief Sycophant for the Bush administration. Journalists who demanded that Clinton be held accountable for a minor sex scandal (Monica Lewinsky) and a minor financial scandal (Whitewater) now serve as apologists and propagandists for the Bush administration’s major war scandals.

The Republican House of Representatives saw fit to impeach President Clinton for lying about sex. The same Republicans defend to the hilt Bush’s lies that launched America into an unjustified war that has killed and maimed tens of thousands of Iraqis and Americans, cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, ruined America’s reputation, and lost forever the hearts and minds of Muslims.

No decent or sensible person can have confidence in journalists and politicians who take partisanship to such extreme lengths.

There is plenty of room in journalism and politics for arguments over issues and policies. But two solid years of lies is beyond the pale.

12. This bankruptcy bill is a disgrace...
I am simply appalled at everything about this bill. I am proud of all the people here on DU who are fighting it, and applaud every effort (to include teaming with conservatives and libertarians where necessary) to see it defeated.

Sadly, I think this giveaway to the banks and credit card industry will infact pass and be signed into law.

All will not necessarily be lost though, another law can be passed if enough pressure is applied from all quarters to reverse and/or modify this awful piece of legislation.

I am not surprised that the party of big business voted for this crap, but how any Democrat could endorse such a thing is simply beyond me. There is simply nothing in this bill that is good for the working or middle class American - not one thing.

13. One of the links from Kos says it's Biden and Ben Nelson..our two
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 12:51 AM by KoKo01
Dems who are to blame for this...Oh..and a third from Delaware,Tom Carper. Those three were the ringleaders it seemed to say.

Whatever...it needs to be stopped and reading the links from KOS Diary we only have a week to do it. I'm not sure what's being proposed because we here have been calling and faxing our Senators.

One of the links says targeting the Media is important...but we here know the Media doesn't listen. So some of these blogs may be very naieve about the Medias Bush Shilling.

Still it was mentioned by Woodruff and MSNBC so someone must have some influence there...but it's awfully late..

Let's hope the strategy works.
