What has George Bush ever done???
I keep coming back to this question. What has the man ever done? He can't hold a candle to any of the Dem candidates. Let's see: Kerry was a war hero, a successful lawyer, a DA and a pretty good Senator. Dean is a doc who put himself through medical school and has been a governor who had the authority to act, not just a figurehead. Edwards has been a very successful lawyer who brought himself up by the bootstraps and is a senator. Clark has had a pretty impressive military career. Liberman was also a bootstrapper and has had a pretty decent political career.

GWB screwed up in school, went AWOL, ruined some business investments, never had a job that he earned, was certainly not a bootstrapper. The man wouldn't know what it means to have to earn a decent living.

We have to put our differences aside. Stick to the main tent and avoid the sideshows! The fact is that any of our candidates could whip Bush's lazy ass in life. Now we have to do that in politics and it's going to be one hard road no matter who the Dems put up. Let's stop chewing on our favorites and start making a meal of Bush. The Bush truthsquad should start right now. That's who we've got to beat!

7. How could you say that? What has he done?
I'll list them for you:

1. Unilaterally withdrawn from several treaties that helped insure world peace.

2. Declared war on a nation that hasn't attacked us in violation of the U.N. Charter.

3. Given succor to white collar criminals by the dozen.

4. Ripped up the Bill of Rights and half the constitution with the Patriot Act.

5. Destroyed the separation of church and state with his "faith based" initiatives.

6. Cut Veterans benefits.

7. Is destroying Social Security.

8. Gave billions to drug companies and screwed seniors on drug benefits.

9. Destroyed important alliances around the world that took decades to build.

10. Turned the U.S. into a rogue state.

11. Allied many formerly friendly countries against us.

12. Made a mockery of the office of president.

13. Humiliated us around the world with his ignorance and arrogance.

14. Gave us the biggest deficit in U. S. history.

15. Broke the strong dollar.

There are many more...I can't think of them all. But your premise, that he has never done anything is just plain wrong. He has been extremely successful at destroying a once great country. And he's proud of it.

12. Bush has a nasty habit of coming out on top in elections
Texas is a big state and they elected him twice. In 2000, he had enough "pull" to be chosen as the President of the United States. He has successfully got the public to accept the ravages of WAR twice in one term.

Your post is well-intended but once again someone at DU is vastly under-estimating BUSH and this done AT OUR PERIL! Frankly, not all of our candidates can beat him; Perhaps only Kerry can, if we back him early and to the hilt!

Kucinich, Sharpton and Lieberman need to take their bows and leave the stage, like Gephardt and Braun. They CAN'T Bush. Admit it.

And if Dean doesn't do well in New Hampshire, he needs to DONATE at $40 million bucks to Kerry (who is going to pick Edwards as his running mate) and Dean must, by March, start campaigning HARD for Kerry. Dean certainly can't keep the money! And He can't WIN with the public deciding he's the town laughing-stock.

Let's all out pressure on Dean to fork-over all that Democratic cash and get behind Kerry, who has the best chance of winning.

Notice I don't mention Clark, the 20-minute Democrat who shouldn't even be in the Democratic Primary in the first place. What's with the folks around here backing HIM, of all people.

14. Good points.
I was trying not to be partisan. I have already posted that Kerry is the only guy who can beat Bush. The intention of this post was to try to turn the spotlight back on to Bush. All of our guys are good men and they will sort themselves out in the primaries. I just think we need to get back to Bush.
