Backlash Time (Against All Who Voted For Bankruptcy Bill)
Where is the outrage? I know I'm preaching to the choir here.

I get no less than 4 solicitations per day for credit cards for my corporation--WHICH HAS NO CREDIT AND OWNS NOTHING!!!!! Why is there any sympathy, at all, for usurious credit card companies reaping record profits off of their predatory lending practices? And why is there scorn for bankruptcy protection for those who truly need a FRESH START?

Who elects these *(#%@s? THROW THE BUMS OUT IN 2006!

1. the other half of the solution:
DON'T GET OR USE CREDIT IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY AVOID IT.

It's the only way to really hurt a credit card company. Just. Fucking. Stop.

5. I have to agree.
I fucked up back in the Dark Ages in college. (Sound familiar? Young students are one of the main targets of this bill-they can be indentured for decades). I paid them off and IMMEDIATELY got more vampiric offers. I never accepted one since and I've yet to miss it.

2. Is there a place we can write these people?
Especially the New "Democratic" Coalition in the House, which actually wrote Hastert demanding a vote so they could get on their knees and show the CC companies how much they are loved. I'm sure they have an address. I'd like to write the fuckers and let them know that I'm not resting until I see their sorry asses tossed out in next year's primaries.
People, WE DON'T NEED THESE ASSHOLES TO USE PARTY FUNDS TO GET ELECTED THEN SCREW US! TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE!

3. It's not just the predatory lending practices or lack of bankruptcy

protection for the very vulnerable, but it is the total lack of concern for fairness in a system that allows coporation to use those very mechanisms and never be held responsible for their debt--some of which happens to be PEOPLE'S RETIREMENT PLANS.

9. See my post below
Joe Biden represents Delaware. If you don't understand why he voted for it then I guess you don't know our state and who not only he is supported by but a bulk of us who live in the state

8. Sorry, not enough for me to get rid of Biden or Carper

I live in a state that is big in the Credit Card industry. Just as I was never shocked that Louisiana's Mary Landrieu and former Sen John Breaux alwasy voted for the oil industry (living in a state that heavy in the petrochemical industry), well I live in a state filled with banks & credit cards. These are companies that employ thousands of Delawareans who personally would like to keep their jobs. (hell i like mine!).

Credit Card companies are suppose to solicit for new business and maybe it's me but I just learn how to say "No" and rip up all those new requests that I get. I don't even use my Credit Card anymore now that debit cards are available.

10. If they're going to take the risk, then they should bear the consequences.
Amending the laws to benefit them, at everyone else's expense, is not acceptable.

It seems you are one of "them."

11. Yeah - but this isn't enough for me to start swapping senators
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 10:45 AM by LynneSin
Sorry, I'm not into this ideological pure candidate that has to think exactly like me. I happen to like biden and i'm ok most times with carper (he backed down on support for Social Security). So let me guess - because you don't like my senators I should vote against them?

Hey, move to Delaware if you have issues and do something.

As for your last comment - btw FUCK YOU. Sure, I'll I want a Senator that will do everything in his/her power to unemploy the thousands of people who work for the banking industry. People who have real jobs that pay great salaries and amazing benefits. And BTW, I'm one of them. So yes, the Bankerupcy law sucks and I'm not thrilled about it or how the vote turned out. But I would like to think that Joe & Tom are in DC doing what they can to keep Delawareans employeed.

16. is this the let them eat cake strategy
we are not worried about those who have the sense and stability to not misuse a credit card even though they are irresponsibly thrown at them. we are talking about kids who haven't got any sense yet and people who are starving and using a credit card to buy groceries or pay medical bills. are we to throw them to the wolves...and the answer is....aparently so...and that is disgusting and immoral

17. "Ideological pure candidate"
We're talking about someone who has been bought off. Apparently you have been bought off too.

I'm sorry about your great job, and all of that, but fucking me might be a lot of fun, but it wouldn't absolve you from being part of the problem instead of being part of the solution.;)

13. Wow, just think if we put all this energy in getting rid of repukes...
...there are some vulnerable senators out there that I know we can beat provided that we have reliable elections.

But let's waste our time getting rid of democrats instead. I mean hey, so what if Rick Santorum is very vulnerable right now. Let's waste our time in Delaware with a safe democratic seat instead

:eyes:
