Help On This - New License Plate Saw Today - MO
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 09:06 PM by Jon8503
The plate said "God Bless America" - A new personalized plate I saw on the way to work today & really did'nt like it.

Know there may not be anything wrong with it but with this administration cramming down our throats god and religion it just did not hit me right. It just did not seem ok.

What do you think?

1. Aw, that one I have no problem with
It's the belligerent, Coulter and Savage inspired "hate the left" things that make me want to ram whatever car I see them on.

2. I wish God would bless America.
Instead of some people ruining it, and the world, in the name of God.

I saw one that said "Bless the Other Countries, Too".

5. I like that (bless other countries)... here's an alternative to the pledge
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 09:25 PM by KaliTracy
(ok, so it's not a bumper sticker) I happened across...

I pledge allegiance to the earth
and all the life which it supports;
one planet in our care,
irreplaceable,
with sustenance and respect for all.

just found a poster of it here: http://www.northernsun.com/cgi-bin/ns/4426.html

4. Well, if they want to have it on their license plates badly enough...
That's OK with me.

As long as we don't get things like "Pro Life" and "God, Guts and Guns" on license plates (printed as a slogan by the state, not as a personalized tag), that's fine. Wonder if those same people would have the "Guts" to have a tag with New Hampshire's long-standing saying on it?:eyes:

South Carolina now has a optional tag wth "In God We Trust" on the top of it. I'm left to wonder, is that a fundamentalist wearing it on his tag (er, sleve), or a broker proud of all the money he's made with that on it?:eyes:

B-)

6. I think it was their choice
and if it isn't your thing, don't get one.

I personally wouldn't sport one.

hanging from rear view mirrors?

9. As A Christian Liberal Democrat . . .
I might use the phrase "God save Ameirica" (from the mess repugs have created) instead. To me, "God bless America" is before the fact, and " God save America" is after the fact."
I hate the way the neocons have used religion to control, manipulate, and divide. For me, it is a private matter, and should NEVER be used in government.

10. Hmmm... any possibility the state of Missouri is offering this?
Got the registration renewal yesterday and, on an enclosed slip, there was a blurb to buy one of two custom licence plates-God Bless America and God Bless Texas- PUT OUT BY THE STATE OF TEXAS.
