EXPLOSIVE new story on Guckert/Gannon -- he has another alias!!!
Edited on Sun Mar-06-05 01:18 PM by Brian_Expat
"Ann Coulter."

Think about it. . . never seen them in the same place twice. Jeff could easily wear a blonde wig and showcase that Adam's apple that "Ann" also has. And the writing style, could it be any doubt that Ann Coulter wrote this "Jeff" comment from his latest blog: "Frank Rich gives Maureen Dowd a run for her money to be the most asinine columnist at New York Times with Gonzo Gone, Rather Going, Watergate Still Here, but Maureen still manages to maintain a two-Prozac edge."

Also note, "Ann" was the first in the conservative media to violently jump to "Gannon's" defence.

The question is, who else is Ann Jeff James Gannon Guckert Coulter? ;)

Ari Fleischer? John Ascroft? Rush Limbaugh?

Could it be that the entire administration is really Guckert, wearing different disguises? :tinfoilhat: :headbang:

10. Very little
anyway, a new career as propagandist enabled Guckert to skimp on all that gym time and he's gone to fat.

I consider the Gannon matter a very serious story.

Maybe I'll be blown away for my opinion--but I see Gannon as a tragic figure. Something is terribly wrong, with someone who has exploited themself in the ways that Gannon has.

I think he's being used and abused by the Republicans, and I only hope the truth of this story emerges.

It's really easy to make jokes (I've made a few myself) and to get lost in the salacious aspects of this story. However, at the heart of this story is a very damaged person who has been exploited by sick, vile opportunists in our government who see Gannon as an object.

Very sad.

5. He hasn't been "exploited"
He knew (and knows today) exactly what he's doing and willingly did it for the money and the ability to rub elbows with the power.

As a gay man myself I have no compassion whatsoever for him -- and even less so in regard to his response to the revelations since then. He's not tragic, he's complicit.

The tragedy is that the press corps(e) knew about him for so long but did nothing until John Aravosis caught wind of the story.

13. The exploitation was by the White House...not by Gannon.
Edited on Sun Mar-06-05 02:22 PM by TwoSparkles
Gannon did exploit himself, but more important is the White House's exploitation of Gannon.

The White House's deliberate selection and use of Gannon was no accident.

The White House used Gannon for dirty tricks (planting him in the White House press corp to prop up their agenda, furthering negative press against Daschle, propping up the Kerry/intern rumors, etc).

They hand picked a vulnerable person with sexual baggage that would explode a fog around the truth--if the dirty tricks were outted.

The truth is--this White House has transformed the media into a propaganda tool by: Paying the media for stories, planting false traps (Rathergate) placing fake reporters inside the White House press corp and leveraging lies (Swift Boat, Daschle, Kerry's intern affair) through the MSM and right-wing radio--to further their agenda.

Rove is the linchpin in all of this. These are his dirty tricks and he's the connection to Gannon.

The White House needed a "stringer" for slimy journalism jobs. They realized that Gannon's involvement provided a smoke screen. In effect, the true story about concerted, White House-sanctioned media manipulation remains buried underneath blow jobs and naked photos.

And...that's exactly what has happened.

(edited for clarity on a couple of points)

17. He brought it on himself
Did he think that it wouldn't eventually catch up with him? Working for the anti-gay party?

I'm surprised someone in the Republicans didn't out him beforehand, frankly.

He brought the whole damn deal on himself.

6. You know
I don't know where the thread went--that opened up Gannon's association with an escort service with ties to the CIA--He certainly is in the media enough to suggest that whoever his handler is, it's not the White House

9. My guess is that the White House has dumped him...
...or, at least, they are wanting to give the impression that they are not connected to him.

Gannon's newly opened Web site looks purposely juvenile--in order to foster the notion that such a simpleton couldn't possibly be connected to the White House.

My guess is that he was a White House "stringer", sent out to do dirty reporting via Talon News.

Talon News propped up the Kerry/intern affair rumors and Gannon also has connections to the dirty tricks pulled on Daschle, leading up to the election.

Gannon was used by the WH--because he could be easily thrown away and his sexual exploits would leave him without credibility.

12. Gannon's a piece of shit, Radical Right tool.
Feeling sorry for those MF's is an abuse of your own emotions.
The only people I feel sorry for on the Radical Right are the children of those scumbags. They're stuck with shitbags for parents.

14. Spare me ......
...... if you want to see exploited go see the 10,000 + amputee, blinded, and brain
trauma victims in the U.S. military for Herr Rove's experiment in message and
media manipulation. Gannon is a whore ..... they need whores to do their work.

:bounce:

Humor is good too

16. I agree with you...
The real exploitation is all of those dead and injured soldiers fighting this sick war.

However, Rove had to win the election and sell the American public a bill of goods--in order to keep the war going.

He did this with an organized, well-oiled, plan to propagandize the American public through dirty tricks and manipulations delivered via the media.

One could argue that Rathergate and the Swift-Boat lies helped Bush win the election and damaged Kerry beyond repair. Rove was certainly behind all of that. The reporters who were paid by the White House (Armstrong Williams, etc), were shilling for the president during the campaign. Right-wing media was singing from the same songbook--as they tore down Kerry and propped up Bush during the campaign.

Here's our Watergate. Gannon, a man with sexual baggage--was one prong of Rove's highly organized, media-manipulation-dirty-tricks. They hand-picked a vulnerable person with sexual controversy to ensure that their organized dirty tricks would remain in the background.

I agree with you that the soldiers, and the American people, are the ones being exploited. However, to achieve his goals, Rove had to abuse and exploit others along the way.
